Picnic Basket

Summer is on it's way out, but I decided to give it one last hurrah and make a summery project.  I cut out this picnic basket from SVGCuts' Picnic in the Park svg files using the Freshly Picked paper stack by DCWV.  I love the bright cheery colors and designs along with the glitter :)  The base of the basket was cut from a light kraft colored cardstock.  I used brown chalk around the edges of all of the pieces for added dimension.
I added a large array of buttons and flowers as well as epoxy circles featuring more of the prints from the designer paper.  I used some twine for a couple little bows and now I have a beautiful gift box!
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Mickey Birthday Card

I have a nephew who turns 2 soon and what little boy doesn't like Mickey??  I made this card very similar to my Minnie card that I posted earlier this year.
The die cut Mickey head is from Scrappy Dew's Magical Memories files.  The stamped sentiment is from Paper Sweeties.  I used my happy birthday embossing folder on the background paper and a star embossing folder on the white circle.
I added red glitter to the 2 for a little sparkle :)  The red, yellow and black floss I used was some that I have had for years and I thought the star button was the perfect magical touch.

Have a wonderfully crafty day!

Just a Note School Card

I recently received my order from The Paper Parade with a paper pad called Class of '87 by Kaisercraft.  I had never heard of that brand before, but the paper looked cute so I figured I'd give it a whirl.  Am I ever glad I did!  It is such a wonderful 6" stack for school!  Here is the card I created with it.
I popped up the tag with foam adhesive and made bottle cap by punching a 1" circle from one of the pages. I bought the flat bottle caps and the 1" clear epoxy overlay at Hobby Lobby (they are the Paper Studio brand).  I added some texture and shine by adding glossy accents to all of the apples and made little dots on the red patterned paper. The final touch was the turning the corner of the lined paper over and using the circular paper clip.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Sesame Street Gift Boxes

My baby recently turned one and I decided to go with a Sesame Street theme for his first birthday party.  I had to splurge and get this SS paper pad when I saw it online at Joann Fabrics.  It is so adorable and it was PERFECT for what I had in mind to make.  I knew exactly what I was going to make when I saw the Make A Wish SVG Kit at SVG Attic.  The gift box in that set is so cute!  I especially love the bow on top :)  I sized all the box parts at 12.8" wide to make the boxes big enough to hold some chunky cars that my little one was getting for his birthday.  Well, I went a little overboard and made three of these boxes...but they were so easy to make so it didn't take me a lot of time.

Here is the first box.  I embossed the bow with a star embossing folder to compliment the stars on the lid.  I also used brown chalk around the bow and the box's side panels to add depth.  The two stripes of blue "ribbon" on the top are simply rectangles of cardstock that I cut at 1.5" wide.
This box was made in the same way except I used a circles embossing folder on the bow.
On this one I did not emboss the bow and I used real ribbon (1.5" wide) to decorate the lid.
Here is what they look like all together...now you see why I had to get this paper to use, don't you!

Lunchbox Notecards

Hi everyone, just a quick post today to share the simple and quick cards that I made using Pink By Design's Lunchbox Notes stamp set.  It was the first time I used this set, but I am so excited to be using them a lot more.  With the school year already here, I thought these 3" square cards would make a wonderful addition to kids' lunchboxes!  My boys are crazy about John Deere, so of course, that is what this color combo made me thing of.  The rumpled ribbon is from Lovebug Creations is called Green Leaves.
The second card is made with Oh Darling rumpled ribbon.
These cards were made using colors from this Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World:

Nebraska Cornhusker Sign

I am posting today as a guest designer for Craft It Up & Link It Up Linky Party hosted by Tara of Craftin Desert Divas! Every other Monday will mark the beginning of a new semi-weekly linky party and you could win fabulous prizes!!

This linky party theme is Anything Goes. The sponsors are KaDoodle Bug Designs - $15 gift card, Robin's Nest - $10 gift card, and Cardz TV- Stamp set of choice. The more you link up, the better chance you have to win. Visit Craftin Desert Divas for all the rules and to play along.

Here is what I created for this linky party....

I live in good ol' Nebraska and even if you don't follow sports, you still had better show your Husker pride!  LOL!  So I vinyled this metal sign that I bought at Hobby Lobby (50% off after Valentine's Day).  I created the design in SCAL2 and cut it out using black and white vinyl that I purchased from H&H Sign Supply.

I hope you will Craft It Up & Link It Up!!!  Have a wonderfully crafty day!

On a side note, if you like this project of mine, I would LOVE to have you vote for it at Little Scrap Pieces.  It is entry #27 and I would be honored and grateful if you would do that for me :)

Back To School Pencil

It is that time of the year again...back to school!  My oldest starts first grade on Wednesday.  Summer is already gone, which is hard to believe.  Anyway, I wanted to share this project with you.  I made the 3D pencil from SVGCuts' School Days SVG Kit.  Isn't is so adorable?
The best part is that it opens up.  I filled it with chocolate candy bars for the teacher to have a secret stash :)
All the patterned paper that I used was from DCWV's the Grade School Stack.  I embossed the silver strip around the eraser to make it look more like a real pencil and I inked all of the folds of the pencil with brown chalk.

Diaper Card

I am back today to show you another adorable baby project that I made with SVG Attic's files.
I made a diaper card using the Baby Boy set.  I cut the diaper invite at 8.5" wide for the card itself.  The circle on the front made by cutting the bottom, middle and car from the cupcake wrapper files in the Baby Boy set at 8.5" wide.  I added the stamped sentiment on a hand-cut banner and two diaper pin brads that are the Recollections brand.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Baby Girl Gift Bag

The project I am sharing with you today is a gift bag that is made using the Baby Boy set from SVG Attic!  Yes, it is for a girl, but I used the onesie from that set and cut it at 5.3" wide.  The gift bag itself is from the Basic Gift Bags collection and is the tall handled gift bag cut at 11.3" wide. The Scalloped oval is from the Holiday Cheer Gift Boxes set and it is cut at 4.5" wide.
To make the onesie girly even though it was from the boy set, I used a beautiful flower from purse 1 in the Pretty Purses set and cut it out at 6.5" wide. The purple ribbon is from Karen at Little Scrap Pieces. I added an ivory bow and it was done!

For this gift bag I participated in the Clearly iStamp challenge and took inspiration from designsbydragonfly's blog. She had this card that is purple and white, and this one that has a scalloped oval behind the main focal point.

First Day of School Layout

I am currently trying to finish my oldest son's Kindergarten scrapbook.  My goal was to have it finished before he started school again.  He starts school next week...we will see if I get that accomplished!  Anyway, I wanted to share this simple layout with you from his first day of school in 2012.
The background paper is from Recollections.  The blue patterned paper is by the Paper Studio.  I also added two curly paper clips for just a little something extra.
On a side note, if you are like me and love a good challenge blog, head on over to Connie's blog.  She has a back to school theme right now plus she has some wonderful blog candy to give away once she hits 400 followers.

School Days Card

This is a card that is made from my favorite stack of school paper, DCWV's the Grade School Stack.  Each and every page in it is so adorable and perfect for school related projects.
I made it based off of the sketch on the DCWV blog.  I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder and I really like how it looks on the black patterned paper.  The finishing touches for me were the staples and the twine.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Bumblebee Bookmark

Today I am a guest designer for Little Scrap Pieces.  The theme for this weeks challenge is Tag...You're It!  For my project I used the bookmark and bee tag files from My Scrap Chick.
The patterned paper is from the Modern Bouquet stack by Recollections. The yellow ribbon on top is from Karen at Little Scrap Pieces.
Isn't that little bee so sweet :)  We had some bees buzzing around our plants outside recently...just another sign of summer!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!
