Dusty the Plane Box Card

My middle son turned 5 this month!  He is really a big fan of the Disney Cars and Planes movies.  This year we decided to go with a Planes birthday theme.  Of course the airplane box card that is in SVG Attic's Flight School kit was absolutely perfect!
I simply used orange, white and a bit of turquoise for the main parts of the plane.
Instead of using vellum for the windshield, I used white paper and made blue and black circles for his eyes.
Can you believe all of the details that are part of this file?  Simply amazing!
Instead of the suitcase that is included in this file, I added a birthday cake :)  I used candles from their Happy Birthday page kit and just cut layers for the cake base out by hand.
Here is a side view of the card that shows more details.
The best part is that it all folds flat so it can be mailed if needed!  Now what little boy wouldn't love to get this in the mail?  I know mine LOVED his!  Here he is with his card and cake I made for his birthday.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Merry Christmas Sleigh Card

I personally want to tell each and every one of you Merry Christmas!  What a joyful time of the year!  I have always loved the elegant look of vintage Christmas items and that is the look that I went with on the card I am sharing with you today.
This beautiful sleigh card is from SVG Attic's Sweet Wishes Card Kit.  I kicked it up a notch by adding Holly Berry and Cranberry Trendy Twine bows on the packages and along the curls on the sleigh.  I also added a strip of washi tape along the inside layer to break up the white of the front and inside.  I also added dots of stickles all over the front to resemble sparkly snow.

Reindeer Christmas favors

Only 2 more sleeps until Christmas!  When I saw these reindeer candy cane holders HERE, I knew they would be perfect for my neice and nephews.  Well some of them anyway :)
They are super easy to create and I made them shortly before we were having our Christmas with my husband's side of the family.  Using googly eyes and pom-pom noses (some of them even sparkly! ) made them fun and interactive for the kids.  It was a great way to use my envelope punch board.  I am always looking for new ways to use it, so if you have any links to fun EPB projects, please share them with me!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

It was created from the English Cottage kit at SVG Attic. I used Holly Berry and Cranberry Trendy Twines on it. The gorgeous patterned paper is from DCWV's Holiday Glitzy Glitter stack.

Christmas Cookie Boxes

Happy Friday to all!  Christmas is less than a week away!  I have been crafting like crazy trying to get everything done between gifts I am giving and orders I have received.  Am I done yet??  Nope :)  Today I am sharing these fun cookie boxes I made for the people my husband supervises at his job.
They hold a half dozen of cookies perfectly!  The free SVG file I used to create them is from HERE.  I did change the file to have dashed score lines instead of solid ones.  I used a package of Recollections holiday cardstock that I had purchased from Michael's on Black Friday for only $1.50.  Yes, I am all about the deals!
The stamped sentiment is from Unity Stamps and the Christmas Baker's Twine is from Oriental Trading.  (Yes, they do have a lot of scrapbooking supplies!)
Oh, and the cookies are soft baked chocolate chip and chocolate vanilla chip :)  Between these two kinds I made 12 dozen cookies that day.  Lots of yummy goodness!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Christmas Tree Card

Hello all!  Today I am sharing a quick Christmas card with you that is made out of paper scraps from DCWV's Holiday Collection paper stack.
I simply hand cut triangles from various green papers within that stack and formed them into a tree shape.  The star on top was finished off with a bow of Cranberry Trendy Twine.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Star Birthday Card

I am just sharing a quick birthday card with you today.  I have a nephew turning 3 very soon!  I bought the Fiesta Forever stack by DCWV and thought those bright colors would be perfect for a child his age.
I followed the sketch that is up on the DCWV blog this month for inspiration.  The orange layer and the star are popped up with thin foam tape.  I cut the "3" out 4 times and glued them together for a thicker appearance and covered it with red stickles.
The twine I used at the bottom is Limeade Trendy Twine.  The stamp is from Paper Sweeties.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Trendy Twine 12 Days of Christmas Day 6

Hello everyone! Welcome to Day 6 of our Trendy Twine 12 Days of Christmas.  I hope you have enjoyed the past few days of projects! I know I have, and we are only halfway through! If you haven't seen the wonderful projects my fellow TT team members have created, head on over to the Trendy Twine blog to see them.  You won't be disappointed!
For my project today, I created Snowman Soup featuring Holly Berry Trendy Twine and Biggie Candy Bags.   Who doesn't love a cup of hot chocolate on a snowy day?  These packages are super sweet for stocking stuffers and quick to make as well.  I wrapped the  Holly Berry Trendy Twine around the base of the topper and also used it for the snowman's scarf and the tiny bow on the button.
Here is a close up of the saying I typed up.  There are several versions of the Snowman Soup saying, but this is the one I liked the best!

Here is what I created for this hop.
I started with a small treat tin and covered the top with beautiful patterned paper.
I created this Poinsettia from a file from SVG Attic's Winter Wishes set.  The bow of Holly Berry Trendy Twine was the perfect addition to set off the tag I stamped.
Around the top edge, I lined it with red line tape and wound the Holly Berry twine around it several times.  On the bottom half of the tin, I added coordinating patterned paper.
I even decorated the inside with more paper, a sentiment and a tiny bow of twine.  Guess what?  This tin is the perfect size to fit a gift card in!  A gorgeous way to give a personalized gift that everyone will want!

Of course, it wouldn't be a hop without BLOG CANDY!!
Two lucky winners will each receive a spool of this yummy Candy Cane Trendy Twine!

Happy Thanksgiving Card

Happy Thanksgiving all!  What are you thankful for today?  I am so blessed to have a wonderful husband, three fun-loving boys and so many other things to be thankful for!
I created this flourished pumpkin card from SVG Attic's Pilgrim's Prayer set.  LOVE it!  I added Orange Truffle and Chocolate Truffle Trendy Twine to it and think it was the perfect embellishment for this card.
That green paper is actually from a printed cork stack by DCWV.  What a neat texture to add to the fall feel of the card!  The stamp is from Cardz TV's Happy Days set.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

My Craft Spot Fall Challenge

Today I am a guest designer for the new challenge over at My Craft Spot!  The theme is Thanksgiving/Fall.  This is what I made for inspiration for the challenge.
I used the 6x12 Fall and Halloween stack by DCWV for the card base and their 6x6 Sweater Weather for the layers.  The sentiment is from the Chalkboard Sentiments stamp set by My Craft Spot.
I cut out different leaves from the patterned paper and added buttons for embellishments.  Finally, I wrapped the sentiment layer with Chocolate Truffle Trendy Twine.  The different layers are popped up with thin foam tape for extra dimension.
I hope you will take the time to play in the challenge over at My Craft Spot.  We would love to see your wonderful Fall and Thanksgiving projects!  Head on over to My Craft Spot for more inspiration and all the challenge guidelines.

Traditional Christmas Card

Hello again, I am back as a guest designer for My Craft Spot today!
This card is all about Christmas!  I love the bright traditional Christmas colors on the designer paper.  The sentiment stamp is from My Craft Spot's new Merry and Bright stamp set.  I love how it looks like a Christmas tree!  The panel of papers behind the sentiment are popped up with thin foam tape.
The Christmas baker's twine, the large tree brad and the enamel dots all finished off the card nicely.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!
