CAS Washi Tape Card

This is a quick thank you card that I made multiples of.  They are very simple but I love the addition of the washi tape.  I think it adds a great pop of summery colors to the card.  The stamped sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Bee card

We have had bees buzzing around our flowers all summer long and while I know to stay a safe distance from them, they always seem so pretty to me.  I knew these stamps would make a perfect card for summer time!  This card is very CAS and was inspired by a sketch on the Mark's Finest Paper's blog.  All the stamps that I used are My My Mind's Eye, from the sweetest thing collection.  I love the bright summery yellow in contrast with the white and black.
I used black and yellow twine wrapped around the bottom of the center square.  The center is also popped up with foam tape for dimension.

Wedding Treat Bags

Hi everyone!  I just wanted to share these wedding treat bags with you today.  We have been invited to 6 weddings this summer, so I thought these were very fitting for a summertime project.

I cut these out quite small (they are only about 3.5" tall) so they could be used for small treats or mints at a place setting.  I used only 2 paper colors which is very unusual for me LOL!  I embossed the skirt overlay with a cuttlebug embossing folder.  The white paper that I used actuallly has a pearlescent shine to it and is so pretty in person.  The cutting files I used for these are from SVGCuts and are part of a larger set. However, if you want SVG files just for the bags, there are some at SVG Attic that are very close to these.  Plus SVG Attic is continuing their Christmas in July sale through the end of this month for 75% off their files!  You can't beat that for price!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Smart Phone Card

When I saw the Here's To You Dad kit at SVG Attic, I knew I needed to make this card for my youngest brother's birthday.  He loves anything and everything technological.  I tried to make it look as much like his phone as possible.  I also customized the date on the front to be the date of his birthday.
I even added words underneath all of the flaps on the front...
He LOVED it :)  With so many people using smart phones, I am sure you know someone who would be thrilled to receive a card like this too!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Minnie Mouse Card

Hi everyone, I am back with a Scrappy Dew design team project.  Sadly my three month term is up for being on their design team.  But this is not the last you will see of their designs on my blog!  I LOVE not only the cuteness but also the versatility of their SVG files.  That is why I chose to make the project that I did for today.  I used the set Magical Memories.  Instead of using one of the kids that are included in the files, I decided to look at each individual element and make a card from there. This is what I made!

I took the mouse head from the shirt of the little girl and enlarged it to make it the focal point of my card.  For the bow I took matching ribbon, tied a knot in it and wrapped it around the paper bow cut out.

The background is embossed with a happy birthday embossing folder and the sentiment is from stamp this set by Whimsy Stamps.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Christmas Gift Bag

I am sharing one last Christmas in July project with you.  I had posted it on the SVG Attic blog this weekend, but wanted to share it with all of my followers as well!

This project is one that is very versatile.  It is a beautiful gift bag that can be re-sized to fit a small jewelry box or large enough to give a book or a shirt.  This one in particular measures about 5" high (excluding the wire handles.)
I used the Ornament Bag files from the Holiday Cheer Gift Boxes set.  I imported the files and made sure to keep the proportions and then re-sized them to be 5.5" wide.  I used olive green cardstock for the front, back and sides.  Then I re-cut the front and back using designer paper from Cloud 9 Design called Seasonal.  The top of the ornament was cut out of shimmery gold cardstock and attached with two gold brads on each side.  The handles are made from 24 gauge gold jewelry wire.  I cut the wire to 8" long and wrapped the wire around itself to form a oval.

The bow on the front is from the Present Gift Box from the Make A Wish SVG set.  I cut it out of burgundy cardstock at 11.4" wide.  I used brown chalk around the edges and embossed it with a snowflake embossing folder.
The tag is from the Pillow Box files from the Holiday Cheer Gift Boxes set and was cut at 5.25" wide.  I punched a hole it it and added some baker's twine to attach it to the bag and stamped it so it is ready to use at Christmas time!

Have a wonderfully crafty day!

SVG Attic Christmas in July Blog Hop

Hello everyone!  You should be arriving from the SVG Attic blog.  Thanks for stopping by to see what Christmas in July fun I have for you today.
How many of you have a hard time finding a gift for someone on your Christmas list?  I know I do!  Gift cards are really getting popular instead of traditional gifts because the recipient can get EXACTLY what they want and it takes the guess work out of gift-giving.  So today, I wanted to show you what I made to help you jazz up gift cards that you may be giving in the upcoming holiday seasons!
I used two different sets from SVG Attic.  The gift card holder base is from Holiday Cheer Gift Boxes.  The file I used was the Gift Card Pop Up Box. For the layers I kept them all at the original size of 5.5" wide and Box, Insert, Inside Tag,and Rosette were the ones I used.  It fit the gift card perfectly.  I used 1/8" silver ribbon (Robert Stanley brand) on the top to make it look like the box was tied with ribbon.  The designer paper is from DCWV's Holiday Collection The Christmas Stack and the solid cardstock is from Recollections.  The stamped sentiment on the inside is by Hot Off The Press and is from the Ticket small stamp set.
The stocking on top is from Cookies For Santa.  I used the Stocking Gift Card Holder file.  The layers I used were Front, Green, Heel_Toe, Joy, Lt_Green, Red and Top.  I imported them all into my SCAL2 program, made sure the keep proportions box was checked and sized them all to 2.4" wide.  It made them the perfect size for the top of the box!  I embossed the red part of the stocking with a diamond embossing folder and the top with a swirl embossing folder to add visual interest.  I inked around the different cuts with tan and brown chalk.  The word Joy is popped up with foam tape and the finishing touch was a bow made with the silver ribbon and the tiny jingle bell.
If you want to see more inspiration from the Cookies For Santa SVG set, you can look at my Gingerbread Man card here.

Here is the lineup of the blogs in the hop.  If you want to be eligible for the $20 SVG Attic gift card, you must leave a comment on all four blogs in the hop.  We would also love it if you would become a follower of our blogs, but it is not a requirement.

If you love the files I used on my project, head on over to SVG Attic...all their files are currently 75% off!  Stock up on all the ones you need (and want).  We would love to see what you create!

Footprint Baby Girl Card

My husband's cousin just had a sweet baby girl, so this card is going to their family!
The patterned paper is from K & Company.  The white and pink panels are popped up with foam tape and the bottom half of the pink paper is embossed and inked with brown chalk.  The bow is ribbon that I had purchased from Wal-Mart a few years ago that has been in my stash :)

Gingerbread Man Card

There are so many Christmas in July things going on right now so I thought I would join in the Christmas spirit and make a Christmas card!
When I saw the Cookies For Santa SVG kit at SVG Attic I knew exactly what I wanted to make.  I love anything gingerbread to decorate with for Christmas, so I chose the gingerbread man card from that set, but changed it up a bit.  Instead of making a shaped card, I made the cuts 3.5" tall and they were the perfect size for my card front.
The doily is cut from the 4" metal die from My Craft Spot.  The tag is a sentiment that I just typed up on my computer and then I fussy cut out the tag.  The patterned paper is from DCWV's Holiday Collection The Christmas Stack.  I also embossed the green cardstock with a Christmas embossing folder.  The green crinkled ribbon is from Karen at Little Scrap Pieces.

If you like this card, just wait until this weekend!  SVG Attic is going to be having a Christmas in July blog hop...It is sure to be fun so set your calenders for Saturday at their blog and hop along with us.

Orange Popsicle Card

I made this card just for fun because I wanted to try out the metal doily die from My Craft Spot.  I am not a person who uses metal dies much at all.  I love the versatility of  electronic die cutters, but there is NO way that my cricut could cut anything as dainty as this doily!  Isn't it gorgeous? I just love how the entire card turned out :)  It makes me want to go check my freezer for some ice cream LOL!
The popsicle is a die cut from Ethan's Cool Treats SVG Collection at SVG Attic.  I added some chalk on it for dimension and glossy accents to mimic drips coming down from the top.
I went with a tangerine color palate inspired by this picture at Moxie Fab World.
Also, if you missed out on the 60% off sale that SVG Attic had yesterday, you are in luck!!  They extended the sale one more day!  So head on over there if you haven't already and stock up on their SVG files.  I would love to see what you create with them!

Farm Themed Tissue Box Cover

When SVG Attic came out with their Feel Better Soon SVG kit, I was crazy excited.  I am a nurse, so is my husband, my sister, my Mother-in-law, several cousins, aunts, etc.  It is just plain and simple an amazing set!  I knew I wanted to experiment with the tissue box covers that are in that kit and the inspiration for this project came from my little boys :)  They have a John Deere themed bedroom that is full of fun farm things.  I thought I would dress up their tissue box so it would match their room decor!  I used the Down on the Farm SVG collection for all of the adorable farm cut outs.

Here are the first two sides.  The barn is embossed with a striped embossing folder to make it look like a real barn.  The other cuts on these two sides are the sun, clouds, chick, farmer boy, pitch fork, fence, pig and mud.
The other two sides include a haystack, sheep, silo, tractor as well as more fence, clouds and another chick.
The background paper is from a Debbie Mumm paper pack and has clouds all over it.  I knew it would be perfect for this project!

If you would like to see closer pictures of the sides, you can hop on over to the SVG Attic blog and see them there!

I also JUST found out that SVG Attic is having a 60% off sale TODAY ONLY!!  That means you could get both of these SVG sets for a crazy low price...any any other ones that you have been eyeing :)  So head on over and take advantage of this sale today!

Clutch Purse

I made this clutch purse that is part of the Luxury Handbags SVG Kit at SVG Cuts.  They are currently offering this specific file for free.  You can see all the details on their Facebook page.
All the patterned paper is from DCWV's All Dressed Up stack.
The flower on the front was the carnation from the 3D flowers SVG kit part II at SVG Cuts.  I added a round 14 Epiphany crafts epoxy to the center along with the silver decorative element.
 This is the back view.
I think this is perfect to fill with some treats and a small gift or gift card.

Cub Scout Card

This is my latest design team project for ScrappyDew.  I have a nephew who is a cub scout and when I saw their Boy Scouts SVG files, I couldn't help but make him a card.
I made the outfit look just like my nephew's :)  The background behind the boy die cut is embossed with a swirls and stars embossing folder and the boy is adhered with foam tape.  I tried something different this time and used a peachy keen face stamp instead of the included face parts in the SVG file.
The finishing touches are some Beary Brown rumpled ribbon, a bottle cap with an epoxy overlay featuring the boy scout symbol in the SVG files, and the sentiment flag that I stamped.

Celebrate Card

I really love these stamps that have the large word on the side with the small words to the right.  I have several of these stamps (I bought all of them from Hobby Lobby) and love how simple they make card making but also have such a profound message.
For this card I went with a red, white, and blue theme perfect for the Fourth of July.  The patterned papers are all from DCWV's Industrial Chic stack.  I used foam tape under the brown layer for added dimension and used three brads in the right corner for visual interest.

If you like this style of stamp, you can look at the Thank You card I made HERE and the Graduation cards I made HERE.
