Halloween Cards for PYC

This is my second post as the October Grand Marshal for Parade Your Crafts!  It really has been an honor.  The current challenge is "Halloween."  I had a lot of fun creating two cards.  For these cards I used the Raven collection by Glitz Design from The Paper Parade.  It has a fun geometric theme to it.
For the first card I used The Bits and Pieces from the Raven Collection.  The stickers are are from echo park.  I added a 1" epoxy bubble over the 31st sticker.
The front rectangle is popped up with foam tape and the finishing touch was tying the gray and black embroidery floss around it and adding the orange rhinestone.
For my second card, I made a tri-fold card.  The pumpkin is a die cut that is from the ScrappyDew vault.
This is how it opens up.  I added the white panel on the right side to have a place to write.
I embellished the front panel with black ribbon along the left side.  I added a star button and a twine bow.  I added three metal stars on the hat and also three metal circles along the right side.  The Trick or Treat sticker is also from Echo Park.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!  Don't forget to link up your Halloween projects at Parade Your Crafts!

Fall Leaf Wreath and Stand

Today I am back with another Design team project for SVG Attic.  If you haven't seen the latest sets that Jessica has created, you are missing out!  They are gorgeous!  I combined the last two, Autumn Splendor and Winter Wishes with Thankful Captions to make this project.
From the Winter Wishes set, I made the wreath stand and the background of the wreath at the imported size.  The wreath stand is made with dark brown cardstock and has yellow and green rumpled ribbon wrapped around the base.  The background layer of the wreath was cut with kraft cardstock twice and glued together for additional support since I knew I was going to be layering on all kinds of pretties :)
The leaves and their stems were cut from the Autumn Splendor set.  The green leaves were cut at 7", the red and yellow leaves were cut at 6" and the brown and orange leaves at 5".  They are all distressed with brown chalk.
I didn't want to cover up those beautiful leaves too much so I opted to add a banner in the center of the wreath.  I simply cut a piece of cardstock 2.75" tall by 11'' wide and rolled each end in the opposite direction.  The sentiment is from the Thankful Captions set.  It was cut at 2.25".
The embellishment on the banner was a bow of green rumpled ribbon, trendy twine and buttons that matched the leaf colors.  All of the patterned paper was from DCWV's Amber Autumn stack.

If you liked this project, head on over to SVG Attic and see what files they have!  Plus their files are 75% off for a limited time, so it is the perfect time to pick some up.  This is their newest kit, Winter Wishes.  Isn't it gorgeous?

Farm Fresh Card

I was lucky enough to grow up on a farm and my parents are so generous with the farm fresh produce they give us!  Sweet corn for eating fresh and freezing, apples for applesauce and pie filling, pears, and the list goes on.  This year was really a bumper crop for the fruit trees and I was very busy canning for quite a while, but I do believe I am caught up with that.  It is time consuming but so worth it!  This is a card for my parents to thank them for everything they have given us.  The die cuts on this card are from the Country Life Cricut cartridge.  I rarely make cards with only cuts from cartridges, but this is one of those few.  I added the bandana ribbon at the bottom and three yellow brads at the top left.
The corn is popped up and I embossed the yellow layer with a dots folder and then used yellow ink and white acrylic paint to make the ear of corn look bi-colored.  The corn husk was embossed with a striped embossing folder.
I used brown chalk around all the die cut layers and the matting layers.

I was very pleased at the country feel of this card as well as the fall/harvest theme of it too.  Harvesting has begun of the crops in the fields here and I know my parents are too, so they will really appreciate the theme of this card :)

Black Cat Halloween Card

Hello everyone!  I am back with another Halloween card to share with you today.  It is about as clean and simple as I get with cardmaking LOL!  The patterned paper and the "It's Creepy Time" layer are from the Raven collection by Glitz Designs.
Isn't that glittery black cat fun for Halloween?  It is made by Fancy Pants.  I also added silver brads in the 4 corners of the DP just to add a little something extra :)  All of the paper goods in this card were from The Paper Parade.

Halloween Lollipop Broom

I wanted to share this lollipop broom that that I made using a file that MichelleMyBelle made for the ScrappyDew Facebook page.  I thought it was such a neat idea for Halloween treats!
The owl witch is a file from the ScrappyDew vault.  If you haven't checked into that yet, I really recommend that you do.  Tons of files with more being added all for a very reasonable price.  I used brown chalk around the die cuts and the broom bristles to make them stand out better.  The base of the card is made with glittered paper by DCWV's Bewitched stack.  It sure is sparkly :)
This is the inside of the small card.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Monkey Baby Card

This is a card that I made just to have on hand.  I have had the 8x8 Nana's Kids paper stack (by DCWV) for a LONG time and thought it would make an adorable card.  I also used DCWV's neutral alphabet stickers for the "baby" sentiment.  It matched the paper perfectly!
For die cuts, I used a free monkey from SVGCuts and also the scalloped green square was from their Scalloped Shapes SVG collection.  If you haven't already seen that collection, it is huge!  So many scalloped shapes to choose from to use for mats or frames on your projects.
I added orange, purple, brown and green embroidery floss to the monkey and stamped the face with Peachy Keen Stamps.  For a final touch I added three metal button brads in the top left corner.  I used brown chalk around all of the paper layers and die cuts.

Now I have a neutral baby card ready to go whenever I need it!

Candy Corn Treat Holder

Today I am sharing this cute candy corn treat holder with you.  The files for this are from the Party On Elm Street kit at SVGCuts.  The papers I used are from The Paper Parade.
I made the handle with wire and embellished it with green and yellow rumpled ribbon from Lovebug Creations.  The "candy" sentiment is from Mark's Finest Paper's What a Scream stamp set.
For the front, I added several buttons, orange, black and yellow twine and a row of black rhinestones.  Actually I just colored clear rhinestones with a black sharpie marker :)  I went around all of the edges with black and brown liquid chalk.

Witch Halloween Card

This witch card was inspired by the blog candy Nikki from Graphix and Designs sent me recently.  This witch sticker was amazing!  It is huge and has so much dimension!  I die cut the black scalloped circle to set the moon off a bit from the DP.  Oh and by the way, the moon glows in the dark LOL!
A close up of the witch sticker.  The top layer of the hat and the witch's body are on wobbles :)  Needless to say, my two older boys were having a lot of fun with this one!  I added Crystal stickles on the hat and the book in the witch's hand also on the purple strip of paper.
To finish it off I added the tree buttons and a bow of black cord.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Onesie Baby Boy Card

Today I am sharing a card with you that I made for Jessica at SVG Attic.  She welcomed baby Carter into this world yesterday!  I thought I would surprise her with a baby card made with files that she created :)
The onesie and boat element are from the Baby Boy set at SVG Attic.  The patterned paper is from DCWV's Spring matstack.
I added three metal embellishments to the bottom of the onesie and faux stitching lines to mimic the look of a real one.  Plus I used tan chalk around it to create more dimension.  I also used my swiss dots folder to emboss the white background and the white circle behind the sailboat.

If you like the cuts on this project, head on over to SVG Attic and see what files they have!  Plus their files are 75% off for a limited time, so it is the perfect time to pick some up.  This is their newest kit, Winter Wishes.  Isn't it gorgeous?

Halloween Cauldron

I am thrilled to have been chosen as the Grand Marshal at Parade Your Crafts for the month of October!  The current challenge is a Halloween theme.  Lisa sent me some wonderful Halloween papers from The Paper Parade to work with and the ones that you see here are called Trick Or Treat by Fancy Pants.
I made the base of the cauldron with black AC cardstock and it turned out very sturdy.  The files I used to make this are from the Party on Elm Street SVG kit by SVGCuts.  This is a side view that shows off the wonderful Halloween patterned paper.
Here is a close up of the tag.  It too was cut from the same collection of patterned paper.  I inked around the outside with black ink, added some buttons, twine and lilac and black ribbon all the way around the cauldron.  Behind the tag I added some burlap and faux spider webbing.
The best part is that this cauldron holds two bags of candy!  Perfect for passing out candy to trick-or-treaters.

4x4 Pumpkins

Hello everyone!  Fall is everywhere we look now.  The leaves are falling, the temperatures are cool and Halloween is right around the corner.  Today I have a project to share with you that has no paper on it whatsoever.  Crazy, right?  Don't worry, I was still able to use my Cricut on it, just not with paper :)  I have seen wooden pumpkins like these a lot.  In person, on the internet with several variations of course.  Here is my take on this popular fall decor.
I cut 4x4's into three different heights and painted them with an outdoor orange paint.  I didn't know if I wanted them for indoors or outdoors, so I used elements that would be okay outside too.  Then I used a combination of brown, yellow and green paint to add the lines on to make them look more like pumpkins.  The dowel sticks that I used for the stems were a little over an inch in diameter and I used my hot glue gun to wrap them with twine.  I added leaves from a bunch of fake leaves I had in my stash along with some wired berries.  Large brown buttons and a bow of twine finished off each pumpkin.
I made the sign out of a very thin board that just so happened to be in the garage calling my name for this project :)  The Happy Harvest was cut from tan, olive green, yellow and burgundy vinyl that I had purchased from H&H Sign Supply.  The cutting files for the words were from the Thankful Captions set by SVG Attic.  They were a perfect match for this project!

The embellishment on the sign is almost the same as on top of the pumpkins, except I added some brown, green, and yellow rumpled ribbon.

Then I just couldn't help myself and had to see how they would look in Halloween mode...and they turned out cute that way too!

I simply slipped the sign off of them and added black vinyl jack-o-lantern faces.  The faces are from the Pumpkin Patch SVG collection at SVG Attic.  The vinyl is removable and it will peel right off once Halloween is over.  I will put the sign back on and these will be gracing my house until Thanksgiving is over!

If you like the cuts on this project, head on over to SVG Attic and see what files they have!  Plus their files are 50% off for a limited time, so it is the perfect time to pick some up.  This is their newest kit, Winter Wishes.  Isn't it gorgeous?
