Pastel Valentine Card

This card was completly inspired by DCWV's Vintage Collector stack.  It is such a neat stack and I fell in love with the hexagon DP you see on this card.
The doily die is from My Craft Spot.  The twine and the sequins are from my stash.  The papers are all from that stack!
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Valentine Heart Basket

I love everything about Valentine's Day, from the colors to the candy to the meaning behind it all.  With that being said, I sometimes get a bit carried away when making Valentine projects and this one is no exception.  Truthfully, with three boys in the house, there probably should be some unwritten law against something this frilly LOL!

First I made the adorable Heart Basket from SVG Attic's Heart Shaped Box set.  The patterned paper I used was from The Paper Studio's You + Me cardstock stack.
Here is a side glance.
This is a close up of the handle.  I cut the cardstock handle and then braided red, lt. pink and white rumpled ribbon along it.  The ribbon is from Karen at Little Scrap Pieces.  At the base of the handle I tied a bow on each side using the red and white ribbon.  Along each side of the handle I also applied eyelet scalloped trim from Erin's Scalloped Trims.  The trim was cut out of vellum.
I also added the same trim in vellum all the way around the top of the basket.
Last, but not least, I made candy treat favors from the Fun Favors collection to place in the basket.  I sized them to 5.5" wide and they fit perfectly in the basket.  At this size, they each hold two Hershey's kisses.
I had so much fun making this and I hope you enjoyed it as well!

Guess what?   SVG Attic has just released a new set!  It is called Sweet Shop Party and I am totally loving it!  Through January 26, 2014, this collection is 50% off, so if you love it like I do, don't hesitate to get it because it will go back to regular price after that :)
Have a wonderfully crafty day!

Football Birthday Cake and Card

My oldest son recently turned 7.  It is hard to believe he is that old already!  He wanted a football birthday cake so I ran with that idea for his card too.  Here is the card I made.
I used files from ScrappyDew's Football Extras as well as the football from the SCAL library.  I made a scalloped edge on the card to accommodate the seven helmets.  I attempted to get the helmet colors correct for the different teams, but I was informed that a couple of them weren't quite right LOL ;)
The logos on the helmets were just printed off a photo on the internet and then I used my Epiphany Crafts round 14 tool to add the epoxy sticker to them.  I popped up every other one using foam tape.  The football is also on foam tape and I embossed it with a tiny circles embossing folder, but it is hard to see in the picture.  I used brown chalk ink on all of the layers.
For the cake, I simply cut down a circle cake into a football shape.  I frosted it with chocolate buttercream frosting and it turned out quite tasty!
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Happy Birthday Quilt Card

I made this card for my Mom's birthday.  We have been slowly working on piecing quilts so when I saw this card that Debbie made, I knew I had to try it out.
The paper I used was actually Christmas paper, but I thought it worked perfectly for a winter birthday card.  With all the embellishments I used, this card was quite thick, so thankfully I was able to hand deliver it.
The ribbon and stamped sentiment are both from Paper Sweeties.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Ice Cream Parlour Card

This card was totally inspired by a 6x6 paper pad that I recently purchased from The Paper Parade.  It is Authentique's Sweetness.  I fell in love with this paper and have been wanting to make something with it ever since it came into my hot little hands :)
All of the die cuts on this card are from SVG Attic.  The double scoop ice cream cone is from Ethan's Cool Treats and I cut it at the imported size.  The scalloped tag behind it is from the Holiday Cheer Gift Boxes set.  Once I imported the tag into my software, I resized it to 4" tall, keeping the proportions the same.  I inked the edges of the die cuts using brown chalk ink.  I embossed the cone using an argyle embossing folder and distressed it with brown chalk to make it look like a real waffle cone.  I used glossy accents on the Ice cream to add some shine and dimension.  I also added dots of liquid pearls in the scallops to compliment the bow.
Here is a close up of the bottom of the card.  I used white satin ribbon to make the bow.  The sentiment is just fussy cut from one of the papers in this stack.  Last, but not least, I added three white buttons to the bottom left.  I wanted to fill in that blank space.  I guess I have a hard time keeping things simple LOL!
If you are wanting to get some of the SVG files that I used, NOW is the time to get them!  SVG Attic is currently having a $1 sale.  All sets are only $1...how awesome is that?
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Winter Thank You Card

Happy New Year!!  This card is perfect for giving to someone who gave you an extra special gift this holiday season.  It is made using SVG files from SVG Attic.  The card itself and the Thank You caption is from the G is for Gratitude kit.  I added rhinestones to the top of the H and N to set them apart from the rest of the letters.  I also added a tiny bow to the front just to add a little something extra.
The snowflakes I added to the side are from the All The Trimmings set (I used the middle layer of the snowflake) and the sizes I cut then are as follows:  For the top snowflake, the white layer is 2.2" tall and the silver layer is 1.6" tall.  The center snowflake is cut at 1.2" tall.  The white layer on the bottom one is cut at 1.5" and the silver layer is 1.16" tall.  I popped the large snowflake up with foam tape and added a rhinestone to the center of each snowflake.  I guess I am a girl that loves sparkles :)
For the inside of the card, I added a layer of white cardstock for writing on that was cut out using the same cutting file as the front patterned paper panel.  You can see a glimpse of it in the picture above.

Here is a close up of the large snowflake.  Isn't that glitter paper gorgeous?  It is from the Glitzy Glitter cardstock stack by DCWV.  It was a brand new stack that I opened just for this card! The best part...it cut wonderfully with my Cameo!  Yes, you read that right.  I was so lucky to receive a Silhouette Cameo for Christmas and I am super excited to experiment and learn all about it!
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!
