Sweet Summertime Blog Hop

Here is the project I created, a fun patriotic ensemble!  July 4th is always such a fun summer occasion for my family.  We get together for fireworks and make s'mores then when we are all finished we make root beer floats :)

 For the firecracker double cascade card, I used SVG Attic's Star Spangled 4th kit.  Isn't the design of this card amazing?!  I used  Krazy for Kraft, Stars and Stripes, and Cranberry Trendy Twines on the firework bursts at the back of the card.  Around the front oval panel, I used Cranberry Trendy Twine and placed a bow of  Krazy for Kraft at the center bottom.

 I also created two firecracker boxes from SVG Attic's Festive Fourth set.  The blue one is the tall firecracker.  I used Krazy for Kraft twine as the "wick" of the firecracker.  I simply made it into a tassel, flipped it upside-down and glued it to the top of the box.  I also used Stars and Stripes and wrapped it around the center panel several times to add more visual interest.

 The red firecracker box was crafted in the same way as the blue one, but it is the medium box from SVG Attic's Festive Fourth set.  I also added a bow on the circle panel with Krazy for Kraft twine.

The patterned papers I used for these projects are from The Paper Studio's Vintage Nation stack.

July 8 Decorate to Celebrate

Baby Bottle Card and Headband

Hello all!  I am the proud aunt of a new niece and created this card and headband as part of the gift I gave for her.  The baby bottle is a shaped card from SVG Attic's Rockabye Baby cards.  That set has such a darling collection of baby shaped cards!

I was going for a more vintage look with the card and papers in DCWV's Birds and Butterflies DIY project stack was perfect for it!  I used a pre-die cut butterfly from that stack, added fun buttons, and a double bow of Chocolate Cupcake Trendy Twine to the bottom of the card.  I also inked around the edges of the die cuts and added liquid pearl dots in various places.

I also created this rose headband for her to wear.  I purchased the stretchy lace and stitched it into a headband.  For the rose, I once again used Chocolate Cupcake Trendy Twine and crocheted it into what you see here!  I glued an alligator clip on the back so the rose would be interchangeable with other bows.

1st Birthday Card

My sweet niece (and Godchild) just turned one!  I was debating at what kind of card to make for her when I finally decided to create the one you see here.

She had pink and flowers for her birthday theme, which helped me decide on the papers and embellishments.  The 1 cut files are from the Nested Numbers set at SVG Attic.  This card could easily be created with any age.  Or you could even use their Nested Alphabet to make this card with a monogram instead of the age.

I used layers of foam tape between layers of the number to add lots of dimension.  For embellishments, I used crinkled seam binding, Pinkberry Sorbet Trendy Twine and lots of fun buttons.

July 4th Firework Card

I am back again today with more patriotic Trendy Twine inspiration for you!  This is a card that obviously was created with Independence Day in mind, but my dad's birthday is also July 4th, so I will be giving it to him for that.

This card was cut using a file from SVG Attic's Stars and Stripes Card kit.  I used paper from DCWV's Seaside Yacht stack to create it.

 I wrapped the base of the rocket with lots of Stars and Stripes Trendy Twine plus wrapped more around the card base on the left side and tied it in a knot.  I also popped the white layer of paper up with foam tape to add lots of dimension on this card.

Firecracker Pillow Box

Good morning!  Today is my day to post on the Trendy Twine blog.  This month, we are featuring products with a stars and stripes theme.  How fun is that?!  When I saw this Medium Kraft Pillow Box, I immediately thought of creating a firecracker out of it.

The middle was wrapped with various papers, then I wrapped Stars and Stripes Trendy Twine several times around the very middle of the box.  For the USA doily, I used a file from SVG Attic and then laced more Stars and Stripes Trendy Twine through the holes in the doily and tied a bow at the bottom.

The finishing touch was to create the "wick" at the top of the box using Stars and Stripes Trendy Twine and Krazy for Kraft Trendy Twine.  This will make such a fun favor for the Fourth of July!
