Cowgirl Birthday Card

Happy National Scrapbooking Day everyone!  I am being a rebel and posting a card today instead of a layout ;)

This is my first project as an official member of the ScrappyDew design team!  I was a guest designer for them and now I get to stick around for a while longer!  I am so excited!
This card was for my niece's 10th birthday.  It is so hard to believe she is that old already.  I am not sure where the time went.  Anyway, she has wanted a horse of her own for a few years already, so I thought this card would be very fitting for her :)  Plus I don't get to make girly things that often, so I decided to go all out for this one! All of the cuts- cowgirl, horse, fence, and cactus, came from the Scrappy Wild West SVG set at ScrappyDew.  The card base is a 5.5" square.
There were a lot of layers in this one and it took a bit of time, but it was so very worth it!  I guess the card was brought around to all the family members and they tried to count the different pieces of paper that I used LOL!  I guess you could say that I provided entertainment for the night even though I couldn't be there :)
And it wouldn't have been as fun without an action wobble behind the horse, now would it?  This shows my 3 year old having fun with it!
And just to add a bit more dimension, I used my swiss dots embossing folder to jazz up the cactus.
The pink and green bandanna papers were from a Debbie Mumm paper pack that I had picked up at Jo-Ann Fabrics a long time ago and it was just perfect for this card.  The horseshoe paper was from the Yee-Haw paper pack by The Paper Studio.

I hope you all enjoy this card and have a wonderfully crafty day!

Baking Card

Here is another Mother's Day card that I made.  It is a "Joy-fold" card and I followed this You tube tutorial and it was actually quite easy to do!  The patterned cardstock I used was from my Sugar and Spice Stack by Paper Studio.  I LOVE that paper and have had it for a few years.  Every sheet in it is so beautiful!
I popped the cookie sheet up on dimensionals and embossed the front flap of the card for extra visual interest.  The cookie sheet was from here but it looks like it is not available any more.  However, there is an adorable cookie sheet SVG file in the Christmas Cookie Party SVG Collection at SVGCuts.  For the spatula I just welded basic shapes together in SCAL2.
This is to show how it opens.  The red flap lifts up from behind the scalloped circle,
Then the lower flap goes down to reveal the inside of the card!
I really had a lot of fun making this card and I hope you try one out too!

Have a wonderfully crafty day!

Flower Pot Card

This year for Mother's Day I decided to try my hand at a flower pot card.  I had seen these in a couple different places, but I based mine off of this Youtube video that did a wonderful job stepping out the whole process for me.  I do not have Stampin' Up supplies like she used, so I just improvised and made similar files in my SCAL2.  I used bright and cheery colors which I love! This has quite a bit of dimension, so I decided it would be best to give them to my Mom and Mother-in-law in person instead of mailing them.  Plus it will be fun to see their expressions when they see it!
The card is actually attached to the flowers.  They pull out of the flower pot so the inside message can be read.
Here is the card taken out of the pot with the envelope I made out of coordinating paper that I have had in my stash for a long time just waiting for the perfect use!
And a cloesup of the embossed details on the flowers.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Bus Driver Thank You Card

Hello all!  Happy May Day!  Today I am sharing a very quick project that I made for my son's bus driver.  He is such a good bus driver...couldn't ask for a better one.  Since school is over very soon here, I knew I had to get something made for an end of the year thank you for bringing my son to and from school safely every day.  So here is what I made:
The card is very simple and I used the school bus SVG from the Back 2 School set at ScrappyDew.  For the card base I just flipped one copy of the bus background and welded it at the front in SCAL2.  Easy peasy!  Instant card.
Then I made a bus key chain using a 1" circle punch, 1" epoxy circle and a bottle cap.  Another super simple project.
Throw in a box of chocolate...because who doesn't like chocolate?  And you have a cute and quick gift!

Oh and on a side note...this is what it looks like outside my front door today.  YUK!  I hope all of you are getting better weather than we are in Nebraska!
