Blast From The Past- Ribbon Rose Card

I first posted this card in June.  Click here for my original post.  I am re-posting it to enter it in My Craft Spot's blast from the past challenge.
I used patterned paper from Echo Park's Beautiful Life 6x6 pad.  The doily die and the stamp I used are from My Craft Spot.  I inked around the patterned paper and the doily with brown chalk ink.  Now on to the ribbon creations!  I started out making this rose out of the  red ribbon.  To make it, I cut a 2" circle out of chipboard and covered it in 1/2" red line tape so it would be super sticky.  I just started at the center and bent the ribbon in 1/2 with the bent edge down and made a tight roll of ribbon.  Then I pressed that down in the center of the circle base and made looser circles of the ribbon around it.  I would turn the ribbon every so often to make it appear that there were petals on the rose, but I kept the ribbon folded in 1/2 the whole time.
I used the green ribbon for the leaves and adhered them under the rose.  Of course, I couldn't just leave well enough alone, so I twisted some brown ribbon into two twigs and used off-white ribbon to make small buds on those twigs.  It gave those twigs a pussy willow-ish appearance.  I used lots of glue dots on this card for all of the ribbon.
This picture is to show you how flat the card still is!  It is still easily mailable even though there is a big flower on it :)

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Jar Gift Bag

Nothing says fall like canning!  All of that homemade deliciousness :)  This half pint jar gift bag is perfect for giving jars of jelly.  It is from SVG Attic'Neighbor Gift Set.  The papers I created it out of are from Cosmo Cricket's Circa 1937 collection.
Here is a closeup of the topper and the tag.  I chose to close the topper with button brads.
For the tag, I used Cranberry Trendy Twine to tie it on and for the bow.  I used a Unity Stamp for the sentiment and colored the tag with red, yellow and light green chalks.  For a final touch I added a button and two homemade enamel dots at the bottom.
I hope you enjoyed this project!  Have a wonderfully crafty day!

P.S.  SVG Attic is having a 50% OFF SALE right now!  I don't know how long it will last, so hurry and get your wishlist items now!

Ghostly Greetings Card

Hello all!
I have been loving playing with my Halloween papers and stamps lately!  It is so much fun :)  This card was based on a sketch on the DCWV blog.
All of the patterned papers are from DCWV's Halloween and Fall Stack.  The coordinate perfectly!  The ghost and pumpkin stamp are from Mark's Finest Papers and the sentiment is from Hero Arts.  The ghost is popped up with two thicknesses of foam tape.  I added Orange Licorice and Orange Limeade Trendy Twine for accent and buttons in the bottom corner.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Sneaker Gift Box

Today I am sharing this adorable tennis shoe gift box.  I found this file at My Scrap Chick and totally fell in love with it :)  For the shoe laces, I used both Chocolate Truffle and Chocolate Cupcake Trendy Twine.  I also added the Chocolate Cupcake twine at the top and bottom of the white strip along the side.
And of course, it is a gift box that can hold fun treats!
The patterned paper I used was from K&Company.  The stamp is from My Craft Spot's Tiny Tags set.  I used brown chalk ink to ink the edges of the die cuts.
Here are closeups of the twine I used in my project:

Minecraft Birthday Card

If you have been around the world of popular game apps, then you probably have heard of Minecraft.  Honestly, I have NO idea what the big deal is about the game, but kids obviously like it!  One of my nephews recently had a birthday and my oldest son wanted to make him a Minecraft card.  Plus he insisted on creating the drawings :)  So this card shows the handiwork of a 7 year old and his Mom :)
I embossed the white cardstock layer with a small square embossing folder.  Every other square is popped up with foam tape.  The final touch was to wrap and tie Chocolate Truffle and Twisted Lime Trendy Twines around the left side.  I also inked the edges of the picture squares with brown chalk ink.
I think it turned out very nice, but the main thing is that we were able to spend some quality crafting time together!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Butterfly Baby Card

Today I am sharing a baby card with you.  Pink and brown is one of my all time favorite color combinations, so I paired the yummy Chocolate Cupcake Trendy Twine with pretty K&Company patterned papers for this project.
I stamped the butterfly as the focal point and finally added the sentiment from Paper Sweeties.
Here is a closeup of the twine I used in my project:

Cascading Fall Card

Fall is such a gorgeous time of the year!  I didn't used to like that season very much, and looking back, I have no idea why I thought that.  The colors, the cool air, harvest...it all is so wonderful.  When SVG Attic came out with their Harvest Blessing Card Kit, I fell in love with it immediately... especially with this card.  So I dug out my Amber Autumn paper stack from DCWV and got to work :)
I used kraft cardstock for the card base and patterned paper for all of the leaves, acorn and wheat.  I added rhinestones and sequins for a little sparkle.  All of the die cuts were inked with brown chalk ink.
The stamped sentiment is from Unity Stamps.  I added some Peppermint Stick and Chocolate Truffle Trendy Twine.
I used some thin foam tape behind some of the die cuts for dimension.  It added just the right height, not too high and not flat on the card.
So now that you have seen my card, I want to show you the rest of the gorgeous fall cards that are in SVG Attic's Harvest Blessing Card Kit.  I know you will love all of them!
If you make any of these cards or any other fall themed project using SVG Attic's files, we would love it if you would enter into our Monthly Contest!

Pooh Birthday Card

Today I am sharing a birthday card that I created for my nephew who is turning 2.  What two-year old doesn't love Pooh?  So I took out my big stack of Disney character papers that I had purchased from Hobby Lobby and created this card in no time.
I stamped a sentiment from Craftin Desert Diva's Simply Said set.  The twine colors are Krafty Red and Cherry Latte from Trendy Twine.
To jazz it all up a little more I added some gold heat set circles and stars to the right side of the card for visual interest.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Spider Web Box

I don't know about you, but I am already gearing up for Halloween!  Today I am sharing this spider web treat box that is soon to be released by SVG Attic.  This box is also available in the Silhouette Store.
The papers I used were from the Haunted Manor paper pad by Recollections.  I added a touch of black Rumpled Ribbon at the top and it will be ready for Halloween treats for the kiddos!

I Love You Card

Today is Garndparent's Day and I wanted to share the cards that I created for my boys to give to their grandparents!
The hand and heart SVG was from SVG Cutting Files.  The ribbon is from Lovebug Creations and the paper is from My Mind's Eye.  The sentiment was from Craftin Desert Diva's Simply Said stamp set.
I added glossy accents to the heart and white faux stitching around the scalloped edge.  I used brown chalk ink around all of the die cuts.  The oval was popped up with thin foam tape.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Today is my day to post on the Trendy Twine Blog.  I am sharing a sneak peek of what I created.  It uses Chocolate Cupcake and Chocolate Truffle twines.  Those two colors go together flawlessly!
I really hope you head on over to the TT blog to see my whole project!

Aviator Goggles and Plane

Hello all!  Have you seen the awesome aviator sets that SVG Attic has come out with?  If not, you really need to check them out especially if you have boys or any guys in your lives who like airplanes :)  I made the aviator goggles and the slice airplane from the Ready For Takeoff kit at the request of my two older boys.
Here is a closeup of the plane.  It is actually part of the mobile, I just cut off the loops at the top that allow it to hang.  It is actually very sturdy for my kids to play with and the propeller even turns :)
Here are the goggles all by themself.  I attached a sentiment tag using Trendy Twine and the stamp is from Unity Stamps.  I thought the saying really encompassed the fun my boys have with these!
This is a closeup of the details that are on the side of the goggles...awesome, right?!?
I had sized these goggles with my 4 year old in mind.  Then my 7 year old wanted to use them and they didn't fit around his head.  So I hand cut a piece of cardstock the same width as the existing straps and punched holes in it for an extender.
It worked perfectly!  Now my 7 year old wears these almost every day for fun :)

Don't forget about SVG Attic's monthly FALL contest!
They also have a Design Team Call going on right now!

SVG Attic Fall Contest Projects

SVG Attic is having a joint contest with SnapDragon Snippets again this month!  The theme is FALL.  We would love to have you join in the fun!  Head on over to THIS blog post for all of the details and to enter.

This is what I created for the contest.  Well, to be honest, I had some help.  My 7 and 4 year old boys picked out what files they wanted to make and I helped them to create these fun treat boxes!  I love it when kids get involved in crafty things!
These boxes are from SVG Attic's Ghoulish Goody Bags and Boxes set.  Aren't they awesome?  There are a lot more styles of treat boxes in that set, so go check it out!  You won't be disappointed!
This is the witch hat that my older son wanted to make.  Notice the spider with the white twine hanging from the top :)
My 4 year old wanted to make the ghost.  The Eeek sentiment is not part of the files, it was a premade die cut that I had on hand.  I tied it shut with some Crushed Rumpled Ribbon.

Now show us what you like to create for fall!  Everything from school to Halloween to general fall projects are welcome to enter in THIS contest!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!
