Thanksgiving Cards for Nursing Home Residents (part 2)

Hello all!  Today I am sharing the second part of the Thanksgiving cards I created to give to the residents at my local nursing home.  They all have them displayed in their rooms and it makes me happy to know I was able to put a smile on their faces!  You can find part 1 here of the cards I made for them.
These cards were all created with open stock paper from Hobby Lobby.  Those gorgeous pumpkins?! Oh my goodness!  I held myself back from being crazy hoarding these papers and only bought 2 of each print you see in these cards.  I used all of it up except for the papers that had an antique truck with pumpkins in the back.  I will save that back for another year!
I love how these all came together!  A few die cuts here and some embellishments there and elegant, heartfelt cards are complete.
This one could very possibly be my favorite!  That black gingham ribbon with the black gingham pumpkins...a match made in heaven!
I did have a few more cards than I needed for the residents, so my family was able to enjoy come of these cards as well!
Please remember the residents of local care centers in the upcoming holidays!  It is especially hard with them not being able to see or go out to family functions.  They would love a card with a handwritten message!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Here is what I created for release day!
This card uses the following items from the Holiday Glow PackO Holy Night stamp set, Believe in Christmas stamp set, patterned cardstock and dark green linen card base.  I created the die cut layers and cut them out with my Silhouette Cameo out of the patterned cardstock and white cardstock.  The white layer is what I stamped on.  The window and tree stamps are from the O Holy Night stamp set (which is such an AMAZING set!!).  The window was stamped in hybrid black ink and colored with Artify alcohol markers.  The tree was stamped with Scrapbook.com Rainy Day ink and accented with Sky Glitter Pearl Pen (on sale for only $1 today!). I also used a gray Artify Marker to make lines to resemble siding and gray for a sidewalk and on the scrollwork.  The children from the Believe in Christmas set were stamped in black ink on a separate piece of white cardstock and cut out with my Brother Scan N Cut.  Once again, I colored them with Artify markers and popped them up with foam tape to the card.  I added more accents of Sky Glitter Pearl Pen and the card was complete!  I really love how this card captures the childlike wonder of Christmas.

Trendy Bakers Twine~Happy Thanksgiving!

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving!  I hope you all have a day filled with blessings.  Today I am on the Trendy Twine blog sharing a treat set that fits perfectly with this holiday.  It features a lot of our twine of the month, Totally Pumpkin Trendy Twine.

I started out by filling a Biggie Candy Chute with cute fall themed Hershey's Kisses.  I then wrapped Totally Pumpkin Trendy Twine around the chute in a random pattern and tied the tag on with a bow.  The tag was created with a Large Kraft Metal Rim TagRound Pumpkin Vintage Inspired Tag, and a stamped sentiment from the Hello Fall Planner Stamp set.
I decided I wanted a note to go with the candy, so I grabbed a Mango Scallop Note Card (those scallop note cards are so handy to have for a quick note!).  I inked the edges of the note card and kraft cardstock with brown ink.  After adhering another Round Pumpkin Vintage Inspired Tag that was stamped with a sentiment from the Hello Fall Planner Stamp set to the kraft paper, I randomly wrapped Totally Pumpkin Trendy Twine and added a bow as well.  Finally, I added the kraft cardstock to the front of the note card with foam tape.  There you have it!  A quick thanksgiving treat completed.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Elegant Wreath Card + Sneak Peek!

Hello all and happy Thanksgiving Eve!  As crafters, we are always thinking ahead to the next holiday to craft for.  Today I am sharing a Christmas card for the SumMore Fun blog that uses the Tangled Tinsel stamp set.  That set is also available in a mini pack which includes the Tangled Tinsel stamp set, 6 metallic silver envelopes, 3 metallic silver card bases and 3 white card bases. The mini pack is only $13.99!
For my card, I used Tangled Tinsel stamp set with a wreath builder template and my stamp platform.  I started with a 4" white cardstock square and used elements from the stamp set and inks in the following Scrapbook.com colors: Pine, Olive, and Cardinal Red to create a wreath.  I cut the wreath panel in half and adhered it to the red and green base papers with a gap between the two wreath strips.  I added a green paper strip and gold ribbon to the center.  The sentiment in the center is also from the Tangled Tinsel stamp set and was stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with WOW! metallic gold powder.  I used a sponge dauber to add a little red ink around the circle die cut and popped the circle up with foam tape.  To finish off the card, I added gold enamel dots in the four corners of the white cardstock and dots of red Pearl Pen to all the stamped berries.  I really love how elegant this card turned out!!
That's not all I have to share with you today!  On Friday (only two sleeps away!)  SumMore Fun will be releasing a new full sized pack of Christmas stamp sets...it is absolutely MAGICAL!  Here is a sneak peek of what I will be sharing with that pack.
Mark your calendars!  You won't want to miss it this new pack!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Thanksgiving Cards for Nursing Home Residents (part 1)

Hello crafty friends!  With the Coronavirus pandemic in full swing where I live, I felt compelled to make Thanksgiving cards this year to give to all the residents in the nursing home where I work.  These kind souls have dealt with so much...not being able to see their families very much or even go out to activities and meals like they used to be able to!  As you can imagine, it is taking a toll on them, so I decided to add a little brightness to their day.  I encourage you to do the same!  Christmas is next...if you make extra cards, give them to a care center near you for the residents.  It would mean the world to them!

My three boys and I wrote sentiments inside expressing our thankfulness for them and reminders of how blessed we ALL are!

Here is a look at the cards I created using DCWV's Fall Gathering stack.  I will have a second post later with the other portion of Thanksgiving cards I made.

Other products used on these cards include: Trendy Twine, GMD Scalloped Stitched Rectangle die, foam tape, ATG, brads, and solid colored cardstock.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Trendy Bakers Twine~Fall Treat Tin

Hello all!  Today I am on the Trendy Twine blog with another cute fall treat!  My family isn't getting together for Thanksgiving this year, so I wanted to spread a little holiday cheer by giving out treats.  Of course, our monthly spotlight of  Totally Pumpkin Trendy Twine was the perfect accent on it!

I started with a Candy Tin and filled it with cute fall Hershey's Kisses.  I created a belly band with DCWV Fall Gathering paper and wrapped Totally Pumpkin Trendy Twine around it three times.  I then created the focal point by adding a Kraft Tag-ItRound Scarecrow Vintage Inspired Tag matted with a GMD Doily die cut, Lemon Midnight Trendy Page DotTwisted Teal Trendy Twine, and more Totally Pumpkin Trendy Twine.  I also added a stamped sentiment to the tag-it from the Hello Fall Planner Stamp set.  I think it turned out adorable!  Look at that cute scarecrow!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Indian Corn Card

Hello and happy Wednesday!  I am posting for the SumMore Fun blog today with this Thanksgiving card.  Did you know that they have digital stamps?  They do!  That is what I used for this card, a digital set called Fall is Calling.
I started by printing the stamps off and colored the Indian corn with Artify alcohol markers and fussy cut around it.  The sentiment was printed as well.  I noticed the typo in it after taking pictures, but the digital file has been corrected, so future downloads will have the correct spelling!  I added watercoloring behind the corn, being careful to not get water on the sentiment because the inkjet printing would run otherwise (laser printings would be okay to get wet).  Once that was dry, I added a kraft die GMD slash stitched oval cut, the corn popped up with foam tape, and a bow of Totally Pumpkin Trendy Twine.  I matted the white layer with an orange GMD Eyelet Elegance Rectangle die cut, adding white Nuvo Drops in each of the large holes of the die cut.  The finishing touch was a trio of GMD Mai Tai matte enamel dots in the corner.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Happy Birthday Lesley!

Hello all!  Today we are celebrating the wonderful Lesley's birthday!  She is the owner of Trendy Twine & Annie's Paper Boutique.  Hop along with the DT and GDT, starting at the Trendy Twine blog, as we share our birthday wishes for her.  Make sure to leave Lesley some birthday love as well!

The card I created for Lesley is a fun fold card called Triple Panel Fold Card.  It was really simple to make with the tutorial!  The hardest part was picking what papers I wanted in all the different areas!  All of the papers are from Cricut's Hello Kitty papers.  For the focal panel, I added a Pink Large Tag-It, and a Lemon Large Tag-It to which I adhered Sizzix Happy Birthday die cuts.  The Cherry Latte Trendy Page Dot and Cherry Cupcake Trendy Twine were a great addition to the tag.  I also glued Raspberry Cupcake Sequins on that panel.
On the small panels directly above and below the focal point panel, I outlined a square with Lineco adhesive in a precision tipped bottle and adhered Cherry Cupcake Trendy Twine and tied a bow.  I also glued a few Raspberry Cupcake Sequins on it as well.
Here is a look at the front of the card when it is folded.  It fits into a 5x7" envelope.
I'm not done yet sharing pictures of the card!  Here is the back of the card.  Isn't that patterned paper cute?!  The white panels allow plenty of room for stamping and writing a message.
Here is a close up of the left panel.  I stamped sentiments from the Smile stamp set in the following Scrapbook.com ink colors: Cardinal Red, Rubber Ducky, Candy Shop Pink, and Postal Blue.  That is Lesley's card in a nutshell!  Make sure to go to the Trendy Twine blog to see everyone else's creations!

Here's what I used from Annie's Paper Boutique:

Vintage Floral Card

Hello all, and happy Wednesday!  I am back on the SumMore Fun blog with this vintage floral card.  The two stamp sets I used on it are RB Growing Love and RB No Loss For Words.

I started with patterned paper from DCWV's Farmstead Harvest stack, die cutting a dark layer with a scalloped rectangle die and stamping on the lighter patterned paper.  Do you stamp on patterned paper?  For this one, I used stamps from RB Growing Love in ink colors that complimented the dark paper.  I used the following colors of Scrapbook.com ink: Charcoal, Pink Lemonade, Rubber Ducky, and Succulent.  I then stamped the large flower from RB Growing Love on white paper and cut it out with my Brother Scan N Cut and popped it up with foam tape.  The sentiment was from the RB No Loss For Words set and was once again stamped on patterned paper with Charcoal ink.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!
