Oriental Trading Washi Tape Ideas

Hello all!  I am back with another Oriental Trading post today.  Two in one week!!  This one is all about washi tape that they carry and several ways you can create with it.
First up, the Valentine's that I am giving to my boys!  I made simple 3x3 cards using white cardstock, Valentine Washi Tape set, and die cut hearts using colored cardstock.
For their treats, I decorated Round Silvertone Tins with Valentine Washi Tape set, and die cut hearts using colored cardstock.
I also love making cards using washi tape, so here are some thank you cards I created using the following supplies: white cardstockgold thank you favor tags, and turquoise and gold washi tape.
These cards are an alternative way to use washi tape on a card.  I used white cardstockblack cardstock, and silver print washi tape set.  Sorry for the shine on the washi tape in this picture.  It really is so pretty in real life!
Here you can see the true color of the silver washi tape better.
I also decorated Medium White Gift Bags with washi tape.
This one features coloring washi tape, which I colored with fine point Sharpie markers.
Last, but definitely not least, I made this gift set.  The bag is decorated with the Paris Washi Tape set, vellum, and stamped with Paris Clear Stamps.
The card was created with white cardstockParis Washi Tape setParis Clear Stampscolored cardstock and double sided tape, along with a couple rectangle dies from Gina Marie Designs.

Sewing Shirt Card

Good Morning!  Today is my day to post on the SumMore Fun blog. The cards I am sharing with you uses stamps from Victorine Originals' Sewing set which I absolutely LOVE!
I started by stamping the background paper with images from that set in VersaFine Onyx Black ink.  I layered up the card using more patterned papers from DCWV's Hello Darlin' stack and finished with the top layer of a shirt that was cut from a My Scrap Chick SVG.  I added more stamping to the shirt.
I embellished with button brads, ruler washi tape, enamel dots, and a sentiment tag that was tied with Watermelon Taffy Trendy Twine.
Here is a close up of stamping and all the different layers!
Remember, we have this Mood Board Challenge going on right now! Here is the inspiration photo for it. You can use the pictures, theme, and/or colors to enter.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Oriental Trading Valentines

Hello all!  Valentine's Day is right around the corner, a holiday I always look forward to!  My boys love making out their class Valentines early, so we recently sat down and had fun with these Valentines from Oriental Trading.  They have LOTS of Valentine's Day treats, so make sure to check them out!
First up, these super cute plush Valentine's Day pizzas.  Like honestly, who wouldn't love to get one of these?!  My boys went nuts over these!  They have a little card attached to each one that you can write to/from on.
For girls, we went with these sweet Valentine's Day plush donuts.  There were 4 each of three different donut designs per dozen.  Since these didn't come with a tag attached, we placed them in clear cellophane bags with a small card and tied the bag shut with printed hearts ribbon.
Here are a close up of the 3 different styles, traditional donut, heart shaped, and long john.
Next up, we used Emoji Charm Necklaces with card.  Per dozen, there were three each of the pictured 4 designs.  The listing didn't show what kinds you would get, and to be honest, I was disappointed that there were poop emojis included.  We won't be giving those out.
I really liked the plastic sleeve "card" that these came with.  They were easy to write on with a fine tip permanent marker.
I decided to make a few into keychains instead of necklaces!  I simply cut the chain with my snips approx 5" making sure to keep the closing link on the short side of chain.  Easy peasy!
Last of all, for my preschooler, we went with Valentine Vehicles with Cards.  Each dozen came with 4 each of 3 different vehicles (plane, train, and car).  The cute cards that came with them were punny and perfect to write to/from on.
All in all, I think this is the best selection of Valentines we have EVER given out for the kids' classes and I can't wait to hear how much they will be enjoyed!

SumMore Fun Mood Board #20

Happy Friday! Today is the start of a new challenge at the SumMore Fun blog with a new mood board (you can see it at the bottom of this post). Here is what I created for inspiration!
I used Raisin Boat's Happy Camper stamp set and stamped on the kraft background with brown ink to create a shadowed appearance.  I highlighted those images with white colored pencil.  The stamping on white paper was done with black ink.  I colored the images with Prismacolor Scholar colored pencils and cut it out with my new Brother Scan N Cut.  The campfire was popped up with foam tape.
I thought that raccoon was so hilarious!  I added strips of washi tape behind the sentiment to add a bit more color to the card.  The kraft background was die cut with a GMD Wonky Stitched die.
This is the mood board for the current challenge:

You can enter using the theme, pictures, or colors.  Lots of choices!  Head on over to the SumMore Fun blog and check out their challenge post. You have two weeks to enter your project/s.  We can't wait to see your take on the current Mood Board.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Trendy Bakers Twine ~ Otter Winter Card

Hello all and happy Wednesday!   I am sharing this fun otter winter card I created on the Trendy Twine blog today.
I started with a White Large Tag-It as my canvas.  I stamped Lawn Fawn's Winter Otter stamps on it and watercolored it with Distress Inks in Peacock Feathers and Vintage Photo.  I added a scarf on the cute otter using Tickled With Teal Trendy Twine.  I placed a Spiced Pumpkin Trendy Page Dot at the top and used more Tickled With Teal Trendy Twine for the top of the tag.
I could have left the tag as it was, but decided to make it into a card.  I used patterned papers from Craft Smith's Ice Crystals pad and finished the card off by adhering several Chocolate Truffle Sequins at the bottom.
Here is what I used from Annie's Paper Boutique:

Happy As A Clam Card

Hello all!  Today I have a CAS card to share with you.  The stamps used on this card are from Gina Marie Designs' Beach stamp set.
I stamped on a panel that I had die cut with a GMD stitched rectangle die.  For the yellow shell, I used my stamp positioning tool and Distress Inks in Mustard Seed, Scattered Straw, and Wild Honey.  For the green shell, I used DI's in Old Paper, Shabby Shutters, and Mowed Lawn.
To embellish, I used Limeade Trendy Twine and GMD Citrus Twist enamel dots.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Snowflake Warm Hearts Card

Good Monday Morning!  I am on the SVG Attic blog today with this wintery card.
I created it using the Snowflake Cutaway Two-Fold A7 card from SnapDragon Snippets.  It is also part of the JGW Snowflake Stars kit.  It was a very straight forward card to assemble.  The papers I used were from Craft Smith's Ice Crystals stack and DCWV's Glitzy Glitter stack.  I tied the card shut with Totally White Trendy Twine.
The sentiment was cut with dark brown vinyl.  I love cutting sentiments out of vinyl because it always cuts flawlessly and the adhesive is already on the back!  Since transfer tape is used, no worries about spacing either :)
Here is a look at the card all opened up.  I embellished the snowflake with White Nuvo Crystal Drops.  Adhesives used include ATG and Lineco Adhesive in a precision tip bottle.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

The stamps I used are from the Unity KOM May 2013 called Totally & Utterly Amazing.  I have used that set so many times!!  The images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Prismacolor colored pencils.  The patterned papers are from Craft Smith's Rooftop Garden paper pad.  The oval die is from eBay and the rectangle one is from the GMD Loopy Rectangle Die set.  The only embellishment was white Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Just Be You Card

Happy Friday!  We have made it through another week.  Whew!  Today I am sharing a card that I made...just because.  I rarely do that, create just to create.  It felt great!  I was inspired by the DCWV Watercolor Garden stack.  I love the bright colors and fun prints it contains.
Additional products used include GMD stitched rectangle die, Sunny Studio hexagon dies, MME The Sweetest Thing Honey "Happiness" stamps, Ranger Java Bean ink, and gold thread.  Adhesives used are foam tape, ATG and Lineco Adhesive in a precision tip bottle

Here is the sketch I followed from DCWV's Facebook page:
If you want to join in the fun, submissions are due by midnight on January 16th.  Create a card using the above sketch and DCWV papers, then email a photo to meganl@americancrafts.com.

Celebrate Banner Card

Happy Thursday!  I have a card to share with you that uses papers from SN@P pages that I was given last fall.  Since I don't have a SN@P binder, I wanted to make use of it in a different way.  I had another card using these pages in Monday's blog post.
This time, I adhered a small section of black floral paper at the top of the banner paper.  I die cut those with a GMD wonky stitched rectangle die, then wrapped and tied Bumblebee Trendy Twine around where they met.  I kept it simple, adding only a sentiment and matte enamel dots at the bottom and layering the main panel with yellow and kraft cardstock.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!
