Ice Skates Card

Hello everyone!  I know that a winter card is very out of the ordinary for this time of the year, but I didn't want to wait to share it with you :)
All the dies I used on this card are available at wholesalecraftingsupplies.com and include GMD Ice Skate die set, GMD Fleur Oval die set, GMD Scalloped Stitched Rectangles and I also used GMD Nautical Ocean enamel dots from there as well.
All of the patterned papers are from the DCWV's Frosted Spruce stack.  Aren't they gorgeous?!  I laced the ice skates with In The Navy Trendy Twine.  It was a perfect match with the papers!
The sentiment is from APB Let It Snow stamp set and I used Versafine Onyx Black ink to stamp it.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Trendy Twine ~ Memorial Day Card

Hello all!  Happy Memorial Day.  Remember all those who have given service to our country, especially those who have given the ultimate sacrifice of their lives.
Today on the Trendy Twine blog we have some inspirational projects for you, so head over there to check them all out!
I created this sweet 5x5" patriotic card to share with you today!  This Mouse with Flag stamp is from Victorine Originals.  I stamped it with Versafine Onyx Black ink and colored it in with Crayola Watercolor Pencils.  It is matted with die cuts from GMD slash stitched round square dies.
I wrapped Berries Jubilee Trendy Twine around two of the corners of the stamped panel and added a double bow of it to the bottom right corner.  The finishing touch was red sequins from the Frosted Cranberry selection.  The patterned papers I used are from The Paper Studio's Vintage Nation stack.

Here is what I used from Annie's Paper Boutique:

Victorine Originals Challenge #3 ~ Father's Day

Welcome to a new challenge at Victorine Originals!  This one has a theme of Father's Day.
For this challenge, I created several cards using the Victorine Originals stamps of Birch Trees and Ducks in Flight. Aren't they fantastic wildlife stamps?! I stamped them on kraft paper with versafine onyx black ink using my stamping tool to align each one perfectly. I used a white colored pencil to highlight parts of the image.
I used GMD stitched rectangle dies on this card as well as a Little Yellow Bicycle thanks die.  The papers are from DCWV's Adventurer and 6x6 Burlap stacks.  Adhesives I used include ATG, tacky glue and Scotch foam tape.
Here are all the cards I created!
So, now on to the details on how to play along with the challenge...
Head on over to the Victorine Originals blog and check out their challenge post. You have two weeks to enter your project/s that follow this theme. They do not have to use Victorine Originals stamps on them. We can't wait to see what you create!

Butterfly Friendship Card

Hello everyone!  It is my day to post on the Victorine Originals blog.  I love the card I am sharing with you today.  I mean really, pink and butterflies...what's not to love?!
The focal point of the butterfly was created by using Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Worn Lipstick, Peacock Feathers, Shabby Shutters, and Mustard Seed.  I randomly blended them on a piece of white cardstock.
Then I splashed a little water on the Distress Inks and dabbed it off with a paper towel then heat set it.  The butterfly stamp is from Victorine Originals' Butterfly set.  I stamped it with Verasfine Onyx Black ink and then fussy cut around the butterfly.
I curved the butterfly's wings a bit and adhered the center of it on the GMD Regal Doily die cuts with mini Glue Dots.  The background of the card was made by adhering cuts from the smallest GMD Regal Doily die set all over the black printed paper.  Then I ran the paper through my Big Shot using a GMD stitched rectangle die.  All the patterned papers are from DCWV's Watercolor stack.
The sentiment is so beautiful and was also from the Butterfly set.  The finishing touch was three yellow enamel dots.

Here is a look at the Butterfly Set that I used:

Olive Birthday Card

Hello all!  I know what you are thinking...olives?  REALLY?!  Yes, I couldn't believe I made a card covered in olives either.  I do not like them at all, but this was for a co-worker who loves olives and we had one night at work where her olives were instrumental in us getting through a very interesting night.  So, olives it is!
I used Echo Park's 6x6 Getaway paper pad for this card.  I used Mowed Lawn Distress Ink to go around the edges of the olives and the white printed layer.  For the olives I simply cut ovals that were 1.5"x1.125" out of the green and 0.5" circles of the red.
The sentiment is from Pink and Main's Birthday Wishes stamp set.  I stamped it with Versafine Onyx Black ink.  The bow is Totally Black Trendy Twine.
Other products I used on this card are GMD Stitched Rectangle dies, ATG, Scotch foam tape, and Scotch Tacky Glue.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Coconut Drink Card

Happy Monday!  It is my day to post on the SVG Attic blog.  My boys got out of school for summer vacation last week.  Let me tell you, it is great times for them and I am also thankful to not have to get up so early to get them ready for school.  So, my card for today is a summer vacation themed card :)
I used the coconut card file from SVG Attic's JGW Tropical Haven set and used papers from DCWV's Watercolor and Neutrals Cardstock stacks to create it.
The coconut drink is popped up with scotch foam tape for extra dimension and I simply had to add the little flowers as a finishing touch.
Are your kids out of school yet?  What are your summer plans?

This card also fits well with the DCWV Mood Board Challenge for May.  Head on over to their Facebook page to check it out!

I Love You To The Moon And Back

I have always thought that this saying was so sweet and I was so excited to see it in die form from Gina Marie Designs (To The Moon Die Plate).  This is the card I created with it.
That background started as a white piece of cardstock!  I doctored it up with my Tim Holtz Distress Inks, starting with Mustard Seed in the center of the top and going around that color with Wild Honey.  I filled the rest of the paper with Salty Ocean and finished off with Black Soot around the outside edges.
Then I sprinkled some water on the paper and dabbed it off with a paper towel and then splattered watered down white acrylic paint on the paper as well.  I used the heat gun on it to dry it and also to set the distress inks so they wouldn't smear.
Then I positioned the GMD To The Moon Die Plate where I wanted it and cut it out of the paper.  I then centered the saying with a GMD Stitched Rectangle die and ran that through my Big Shot as well.
The whole purpose of the yellow area on the background was to look like the illumination of the moon.  So I used my Silhouette Cameo and cut out a moon, which a used clear glitter Wink of Stella on and tied some Totally White Trendy Twine around the card.  The front panel and the moon are both popped up with Scotch foam tape.

Trendy Twine ~ Thankful For You Card

Hello everyone! Today is my day to post on the Trendy Twine blog.  I have had SO much fun using the spotlight of Pink Midnight Trendy Twine this month.
This card matches the Tin-Tie bag that I shared on Mother's Day.  Once again, I used papers from DCWV's Meet Me In Paris stack because they are a perfect match with the Trendy Twine.  I used GMD Stitched Rectangle Dies and an unbranded doily die that I cut in half.  I wrapped the Pink Midnight Trendy Twine around the doily and tied it in a bow.
The sentiment is from a Heidi Swapp stamp and was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink.  I loved the layout and elegance of this card so much that I had to make two!

Here is what I used from Annie's Paper Boutique:

School Bus Driver Thank You

Hello everyone!  It is the end of the school year here.  Actually tomorrow is a 1/2 day, but that doesn't really count, does it?!  The boys' bus driver is wonderful and he really deserves a thank you for everything that he does (and puts up with!) to keep the kids safe.  This is what we gave him.
At first I was drawing a blank with what to give him, so I went online at Walmart and took advantage of their free 2 day shipping and bought the mug, which I thought was adorable!  I filled it with homemade monster cookies inside the cellophane bag.
For the card, I kept it simple.  It is a 4.25" square card so it still fit inside an A2 envelope.  I used a GMD Slash Stitched Round Square die for the bus paper and die cut the Thanks shadow from Pink and Main out of the middle of it.  That layer is popped up with Scotch foam tape.  I cut the Thanks die out of red cardstock three times and adhered it together to make it have more dimension.
For embellishments, I used Celebration Trendy Twine and some red adhesive pearls.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Victorine Originals Challenge #2 ~ Flowers

Today is the start of Challenge #2:  Flowers on the Victorine Originals blog The card I created for inspiration includes a technique I recently saw in a video, and the Floral and Sayings stamp set from Victorine Originals was perfect to create it!
I started off by stamping the floral stamp with versamark and used white embossing powder to heat emboss it.  Then I added post-it notes along the line of the stamp to block off the parts I didn't want shaded by the inks.  The first color I used was Spun Sugar Distress Ink and worked from the center of the image out.  (Tip:  Always start your blending on the post-it note and work your way onto the cardstock to avoid harsh lines)  The other color I used was Shabby Shutters Distress Ink and that was on the outside of the pink.  Rotate the paper and do the same process on the bottom half of the stamped image.  Wipe off excess ink from the embossing using a paper towel.
I used Shabby Shutters Distress Ink to stamp the sentiment.  The dies I used are Gina Marie Designs scalloped stitched rectangles and stitched rectangles.  The cardstock I used is from DCWV's Fairytale Dreams and Whites special materials stacks.  Watermelon Taffy Trendy Twine and a few sequins finished off the card!

Trendy Twine ~ Happy Mother's Day!

Hello crafty friends and Happy Mother's Day!  On the Trendy Twine blog today, we have some great inspiration for you, so head on over there to check it out.  I decorated a kraft tin tie bag with lots of pretty items from Annie's Paper Boutique.
First off, I have to say that I was totally impressed by the kraft tin tie bags!  They are very heavy grade and the inside has a plastic coating to make it even more durable.  I added my goodies to the bag and then shut it before I decorated it.  First up, I added two banners of papers cut from DCWV's Meet Me In Paris stack.  On top of those I added a sheer ribbon from the pink ribbon pack.
I made the tag out of a white Large Tag-Its (coming soon to APB), Pink Midnight Trendy Page Dots, Pink Midnight Trendy Twine, and the pom pom trim and pink satin ribbon from the Pretty In Pink Ribbon set.  I added it to the bag with a mini clothespin.  The sentiment is from the APB Smile stamp set and I used Versafine Onyx Black ink to stamp it.
Here is what I used from Annie's Paper Boutique:
