Floral Sympathy Card

I am sharing a card with you for my very dear friend whose grandmother passed away recently.  It is never an easy thing to make sympathy cards, but I hope to brighten my friend's day at least a little with this one!
The GORGEOUS papers I used are DCWV's Bouquet De Fleur stack.  The colors and glitter in this stack are so amazing.  I absolutely love it.  The flower that I created is from SVG Attic's Pretty Purses set.  The heart doily is from the Silhouette Store.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Bug Box

Today is my day to post for Trendy Twine and I am sharing a fun way to package treats for the young boys in our lives!  I started out by using a Kraft Gable Box and I had a lot of fun decorating it.
First, I added plaid paper from DCWV'S Boyhood stack to the four side panels of the box.  Then I wrapped that bright green ant paper around the center.  I had these fun plastic ants laying around and adhered them to the front :)
I created the magnifying glass in my cutting software, then added a sentiment tag and an arrow.
The magnifying glass handle is wrapped with Limeade Trendy Twine.  The bow that attached the glass and tag to the handle of the box is made from Chocolate Truffle and Limeade Trendy Twine.

Here is what I used from Annie's Paper Boutique:

Lion Birthday Card

I made two of these cards as part of a package for my mom.  I thought I'd be a nice daughter and make her some cards to send out :)  I thought these would be perfect for my young nephews.
The patterned paper that I used, which I totally LOVE, is from My Mind's Eye (Alphabet Soup Boy) and it was a $5 black Friday deal at Michael's!  The cute lion is from Miss Kate Cuttables.  I have the lion and the rectangles underneath it popped up with foam tape.
To finish it off, I added three homemade enamel dots in the top left corner and some orange crinkled seam binding around the bottom.

This starts the beginning of a new challenge at DoubleClick Connections with the Animal theme.  Head on over to enter if you have created a project that fits the theme!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!
One of the great Design teams that I belong to is Trendy Twine.  Our design team did something a little different this year for Valentine's Day -- Secret Cupid.  Names were assigned to us and no one knew who had who.  We designed a card or tag and sent along a little treat to our assigned DT sister to make her Valentine's Day a bit more happy.  Today I am sharing the card I sent to my Trendy Twine friend, Migdalia :)
I have had this My Mind's Eye paper that I have been drooling over and decided to actually USE it LOL!  All of the papers in that set are so gorgeous and I didn't want to cover it up very much, so I went with a simple card design.
I die cut three layers for the heart and popped it up with thin foam tape.  The absolute finishing touch was to wrap and tie a bow with the Cherry Latte Trendy Twine.  The kraft and red matched my papers perfectly!

Sweet Valentine's Day Bags

Good morning!  Only two days until Valentine's Day...do you have all of your last minute treats done?  Well, I just finished mine and wanted to share them with you.
These adorable treat bags are a file from SVG Attic's Sweetest Heart collection.  I used paper from DCWV's Dear Jane stack.  I love those pale pink prints!
These bags are extremely easy to assemble.  The hardest part of this whole project was deciding on what candy to buy so it matched the bag :)  I hope my boys' teachers like them!
Have a wonderfully crafty day!

Faceless Beauty Card

Today I created this card using Unity Stamp's Faceless Beauty stamp.  I am not a talented colorer.  In fact, I told myself that I wouldn't get into coloring since Copic markers can get really expensive fast. However, I do use some Sharpie markers, BIC markers, Tombow ones, whatever I have on hand if I need to color something.  Recently, I have been so impressed by the watercoloring that I have seen on cards!  So that is what I did on my card today.
I knew I wanted to use purples on this card, and as I was searching through my paper stash, I realized I didn't really have any!  What?  I know, how awful!  Truthfully, with 3 boys and I love PINK, purple paper hadn't caught my eye.  A multipack from Hobby Lobby saved me with these two purple sheets.  The striped paper was a gift from my talented friend, Angeline Choo...Thanks!
I kept the card pretty simple, the only embellishments are two homemade enamel dots in the top corner.  Both stamped layers are popped up with thin foam tape.
Here is a closeup of that Faceless Beauty.  I am not ashamed to admit that the water colors that I used are a set my boys use to paint with at home :)  I love the perfectly imperfect lines of paint and I added the splatters as well.  I think this face represents a strong, graceful and beautiful woman...one we all can find in our selves!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Spelling Bee Card

Hello all!  My 8 year-old son loves to spell and read.  His grade school recently had a spelling bee.  Each class had a bee and the one who won that went to the school spelling bee.  He was in the 1-3 grade group and he won 1st place!  We were so proud of him.  His winning word was "university" :)  Here is a card I made for him for his achievement!
The background is embossed with a hexagon folder and then I inked it with black ink.  The cute bee is from Miss Kate Cuttables.  I did a print and cut.  I wish the colors of the bee had been closer to the papers I used, but that is what you get with print and cut.  I added a fun bow of Midnight Trendy Twine below the bee.
The letters along the left I cut out three times each so they would have a thickness like chipboard.
When I gave this to my son he absolutely loved it!  In fact he told me this was the best thing I had done for him EVER...yeah.  Not so sure about that, but I guess that tells you how much he liked it LOL!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Hilighted at Miss Kate Cuttables!

Lots of Hearts Valentine Card

I always send out Valentine's Day cards to my family and this year I decided to go with one from SVG Attic's Vintage Valentine set.
I kept it fairly simple since I was making multiples of it.  The background is a light cream cardstock that I thought went well with the kraft banner.
I had to use some of my DCWV Glitzy Glitter paper for the cut out hearts.  I popped the large heart up with foam tape.  The bow of Cherry Cupcake Trendy Twine  was perfect to match the colors of the card.
The hearts in the top right corner are bent up on the edges for extra dimension.  I also inked around the edges of the card with tan chalk ink to distress it a little.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Girl Baptismal Card

My niece was baptized yesterday, and I wanted to show you the card I created for her.
I love how elegant it turned out!  I used an embossing folder with crosses on it for the background.  The scalloped oval and 2 layers of the cross are popped up with thin foam tape for lots of dimension.  The cross itself is from My Scrap Chick.  I used a different swirly embossing folder for the white oval behind the cross.  I used liquid pearls on the pink scalloped oval and along the left side.
The white satin bow and the sunflower flat backed pearl finished off the card.  The banner was stamped with the words Faith, Hope and Love.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!
