Jawsome Birthday Card

Happy Friday!  I am glad we have made it to the end of the week :)  Today I am sharing a card that I created for one of my nephews who LOVES sharks!
The file I used came from Bird's Cards and the set was called Jawsome.  I used papers from DCWV's Beach House stack.  The front was embellished with black Nuvo Crystal Drops and Stormy Trendy Twine.
The inside opens to a pop-out shark!  He absolutely loved it!  The water part on the inside was not included in the file, I just hand cut and glued it on with Scotch Tacky glue.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Trendy Twine ~ Happy Birthday, Lesley!

Hello everyone!  Today the whole Trendy Twine DT and two past DT are surprising Lesley, the owner of Annie's Paper Boutique/Trendy Twine with a birthday post!  The most fun part is that it is a day early, so hopefully we pulled this off without her suspecting ;)  Head on over to the Trendy Twine blog to see all of the cards for her and to wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  This is the card I sent to her!
I thought this card resembled a three tier birthday card, so I decided to make it using THIS tutorial.  On the bottom tier I decorated with a Pink Tag-ItAPB Smile stamp setCandy Cane Trendy Page Dot, and Raspberry Cupcake Trendy Twine.  I adhered the tag with foam tape onto a GMD regal doily die cut.
On the second and third tiers, I added sentiments from the APB Choose Happy stamp set.
The finishing touch was adding several Frosty Sequins to the base of the card.
The fun part is that the top two tiers slid down into the bottom tier, so when it is sent in the mail, it looks like a single layer birthday cake :)  Pulling on the candles lets the other layers slide up.  The papers I used on this card are from DCWV's Confetti stack.

Here is what I used from Annie's Paper Boutique:

White Rabbit Herald Card

Good morning! Today is my day to post on the SumMore Fun blog. I created this whimsical White Rabbit card to share with you.
The stamp I used is Victorine Originals' Large White Rabbit Herald from Alice in Wonderland.  I stamped and heat embossed the image on white cardstock.  I colored in a few parts with red marker, but kept it very simple.
The rest of the card was built with papers from DCWV's Garden Charm and Jet Black stacks.  Some of the layers were cut with GMD stitched rectangle and GMD Floral Frame dies.  Embellishments include red crinkled seam binding, a metal key, and red adhesive pearls.
And now for some SUPER EXCITING news!  I submitted this card to Rubber Stamp Madness magazine and much to my surprise it was selected for publication!  It was such an honor to see that in print.
Remember, we have this Mood Board Challenge going on right now! Here is the inspiration photo for it. You can use the pictures, theme, and/or colors to enter.

Santa Snow Globe Shaker Card

Happy Monday!  Christmas will be here before we know it, so I wanted to share this snow globe shaker card with you today.
I started by cutting out a Silhouette Studio snow globe file, then added the GMD cut in cut out Santa sleigh scene die set.  The shaker is created using two layers of tulle instead of acetate.  The sequins really shake well between those layers of tulle!
The papers I used are from DCWV's Merry Memories stack.  I added a bow and a sentiment on the base.  The sentiment is a retired stamp from My Craft Spot's Tiny Tags Christmas set.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

SumMore Fun Mood Board #15

Happy Friday! Today is the start of a new challenge at the SumMore Fun blog with a new mood board (you can see it at the bottom of this post). Here is what I created for inspiration!
This card is meant to look like a gift!  I stamped the holly border from the Victorine Originals' Christmas Borders Set in black ink several times, then trimmed it and colored the leaves and berries.  I arranged them to look like ribbon and a bow on a gift!  The Happy Holidays sentiment is also from the same stamp set.  I stamped that with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.
This is the wonderful mood board for the current challenge:
Head on over to the SumMore Fun blog and check out their challenge post. You have two weeks to enter your project/s.  We can't wait to see your take on the current Mood Board.  Remember your project doesn't have to be All Tied Up only. You have three options Photo Inspiration, Color Palette, and/or Theme.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Annie's Paper Boutique ~ Cup of Holiday Cheer

Hello all, and Happy Friday!  Today all the Trendy Twine gals have created with these adorable Mini Coffee Cups from Annie's Paper Boutique.  Head on over to the Trendy Twine blog to see all of the awesome creations!
I started by making a caddy for the cups using THIS tutorial.  Then I decorated the cups using paper from DCWV's Cranberry Christmas stack.
I decorated the lid by using circles 1.375" and 1" in diameter.  I attached them to the lid with Glue Dots.  The poinsettia was created by stamping all three sizes of stars from the APB Merry Christmas stamp set, fussy cutting them out, and gluing them together.  I then added a yellow enamel dot in the center.
The front of the caddy includes two more poinsettias, a double bow of Berry Trendy Twine, and a sentiment from the APB Merry Christmas stamp set.
I also added Berry Trendy Twine along the handle and a bow on each side.

Here is what I used from Annie's Paper Boutique:

Fall Luminary and Cards

Halloween is over, now comes the fun of planning for Thanksgiving and all things fall!  Today I have a luminary and cards using products from Oriental Trading that fit that theme perfectly.
First up, the luminary.  I started with a quart mason jar, wrapped Metallic Cording around the rim and added Metallic Trim, Burlap Leaf Shapes, and a Wooden Tag with Fall Washi Tape to it.  The decorations were attached with mini Glue Dots.  Add a battery tea light, burlap leaf, Gold Doily, and a Natural Wood Centerpiece and you have a great rustic addition to your fall decor!
Now onto the cards!  I used several of the same elements across all the cards, so I will list them all in one place, so they don't need to be repeated several times ;)
Here are the OT supplies I used on the cards:  burlap leaf shapes, metallic trim, gold paper doilies, turquoise and gold washi tape, wooden tag assortment, fall washi tape, gold thank you favor tags, kraft paper, white paper, mini Glue Dots and double sided tape.

Non- Oriental Trading products I used on the cards are Trendy Twine and stamps from Annie's Paper Boutique as well as metal dies and enamel dots from Scrapbook Outlet.
I really enjoyed creating these clean and simple cards for fall!  They can be adapted to be used any time of the year.  Oriental Trading never disappoints with its fun scrapbook items.

The review of this product is based strictly on my opinion. Others may have a different opinion or experience with the product above. I was provided the sample free of charge by Oriental Trading Co. and I provided my honest opinion. No other type of compensation was received for this review.

Trendy Twine ~ Fall Coffee Sleeve

Hello all and happy Wednesday!  I am sharing this altered coffee sleeve on the Trendy Twine blog today.
I started off by using a Kraft Cup Sleeve and stamping various stamps from APB Need Coffee planner stamps and APB Hello Fall planner stamps all over it in brown ink.  I added detail to the stamps with white gel pen.  I also added a Natural Tag-It complete with a Spiced Pumpkin Trendy Page Dot, a sentiment from the APB Happy Thanksgiving stamp set and images from the previously mentioned stamp sets.  The finishing touch was three Autumn Sequins.
The Trendy Twine I used is Creamy Pumpkin Trendy Twine.  I used 6 strands and started with a fishtail braid.
Then halfway around the cup, I knotted the twine and spread it out, gluing it the rest of the way around the sleeve.  I also made a bow of of the twine for on the tag.  The cup that I used was a 16 oz. cup from Dollar General.

Here is what I used from Annie's Paper Boutique:

Fall Lacy Edged Card

Hello all, happy Tuesday!  Today I have this lovely fall card to share with you.
I used a GMD Lacey Edged die, GMD Stitched Rectangle die, and GMD Single Sentiments stamp on it.  The ink I used was VersaFine Onyx Black and I embossed it with clear embossing powder.  The plaid paper was popped up with foam tape.
GMD Emerald Waters enamel dots and turquoise crinkled seam binding ribbon were the embellishments I used.  I used Scotch Tacky glue to adhere the die cut to the card base.

Cross Gift Box

Happy Monday!  Today is my day to post on the SVG Attic blog.  I created this elegant gift box to share with you.
I started by making the gift box from JGW Motherly Moments, omitting the window cut on the top of the box and layering the scalloped rectangle frame on the top of the lid.  I wanted it to have an elegant look, since it was for a Confirmation gift, so I used monochromatic papers from DCWV's Silver Leaf stack.  I used Scotch tacky glue for assembly.
I re-sized one of the SDS Flourished Crosses to fit inside the rectangle on the front of the box.  I also created a blackout shadow of the cross.  It was then added with foam tape to the front.
I tied a bit of ribbon around it to hold the box lid on, but left it loose enough to be easily removed for opening the gift.  The gifts fit inside perfectly, and as a bonus, an A2 sized card/envelope also fit inside!  That way I didn't have to worry about the card getting lost or covering up the pretty box :)
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!
