String Art Cards

Good Morning!  Today is my day to post on the SumMore Fun blog.  The cards I am sharing with you use the Raisin Boat Flourishing Thoughts stamp set and some string art.
I don't know about you, but I have seen string art all over the internet!  I wanted to try my hand at it and I knew the Flourishing Thoughts stamp set would be the perfect accent to these cards.
Supplies I used for the string art include:  Recollections 100# white cardstock, size 10 crochet thread, and Distress Oxide reinkers.  The ones I used are Peacock Feathers, Wild Honey, and Wilted Violet.
You add about 2 feet of your thread onto a foam plate and squeeze some drops of reinker onto it.  Massage the ink into your thread (I used a disposable glove for this part) and then pinch the thread at the top and run your fingers all the way down the thread, removing the excess ink.  Lay the thread however you want on a piece of white A2 carstock that is placed in the middle of a phone book.  Add another piece of white cardstock on top of the string and close the phone book.  Press down on the book while you pull out the string from the bottom.  The result is a mirrored image like the ones above!
The best part is that you can re-use your string!  Above you can see the second use of the string (without reinking) next to the first.  Below, the first card shows the third use of the blue reinker, which is quite faint, but I added the third use of the yellow with it for more visual interest.  The card on the right was the second use of the yellow string.
Here you can see the first and second use of the purple.  All the cards needed were the meaningful sentiments from the Flourishing Thoughts stamp set, some washi tape, enamel dots, twine and patterned paper to compliment the lovely designs from the string art.

Remember, we have this Mood Board Challenge going on right now! Here is the inspiration photo for it. You can use the pictures, theme, and/or colors to enter.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Trendy Bakers Twine ~ Floral Treat Packet

Hello all and happy Monday!  I am sharing a project for the Trendy Twine blog today.  This month we are showcasing Orange Limeade Trendy Twine which was released as a Halloween twist, but as you can see, it works wonderfully for summer as well!
This started out with a Lemon Treat Packet that I decorated with flower and greenery die cuts.  The flower centers are Autumn Sequins.
I then created a tag using a Mango Tag-It, a Lime Orangesicle Trendy Page Dot, and a stamped sentiment from the APB  Choose Happy stamp set.  I wrapped Orange Limeade Trendy Twine around the top flap of the Lemon Treat Packet and secured the tag to it with a bow.
Here is a peek at the goodies inside!  A package of fun size peanut M&M's fit inside the zip top bag that is included with the Lemon Treat Packet.  Yum!

SumMore Fun Mood Board #33

Happy Friday! Today is the start of a new challenge at the SumMore Fun blog with a new mood board (you can see it at the bottom of this post). Here is what I created for inspiration using the Raisin Boat Imagine stamp set.
I started out with watercolor paper and used VersaMark ink to stamp the large background stamp and embossed it with white powder.  I then watercolored with Distress Inks in Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, Salty Ocean, and Worn Lipstick.  Once dry, I trimmed it down and matted the center portion with black cardstock.  I added a butterfly stamp from the Imagine stamp set that was cut out with my Brother Scan N Cut and popped it up with foam tape.  The finishing touch was black nuvo crystal drops to create a butterfly trail.

Here is a look at the current mood board:
You can enter using the theme, pictures, or colors. Lots of choices! Head on over to the SumMore Fun blog and check out their challenge post. You have two weeks to enter your project/s. We can't wait to see your take on the current Mood Board.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Trendy Bakers Twine ~ Lollipop Box

Hello all and happy Thursday!  I am sharing a project for the Trendy Twine blog today.  This month we are showcasing Orange Limeade Trendy Twine which was released as a Halloween twist, but as you can see, it works wonderfully for summer as well!
I started with a 2x2 Kraft Box and wrapped some patterned paper around it.  I kept the box fairly simple, only adding a tag to the top with some Limeade Trendy Twine wrapped around the box.
The tag was created with the following items:  White Tag-ItLime Orangesicle Trendy Page Dots, a stamped sentiment from the APB Choose Happy stamp set and a lollipop made out of Orange Limeade Trendy Twine.  To create the lollipop, I simply had a 1" circle of cardstock that I covered with red line tape.  Once the tape liner was removed, I wound the Orange Limeade Trendy Twine around and around until it filled the circle.

Baby Cards

Happy Monday morning!  I am on the SVG Attic blog today with these sweet baby cards.

This baby bottle card svg is from SVG Attic's Rockabye Baby Cards.  It started out as a shaped card, but I wanted it to fit on the front of an A2 card, so I didn't use the shaped card base included in the file, I simply created a shadow layer for under the bottle.  The sentiment was cut with brown vinyl.  The embellishments I used were white Nuvo crystal drops and Totally Lemon Trendy Twine.  Papers are from Craft Smith's Blackberry Lemon paper pad.
The onesie cards were files from JGW Occasional GC Envelopes & Embellishments.  I sized them to be A2, then I created a shaped card base by duplicating the onesie shape and rotating it 180 degrees, then welded the two shapes at the shoulders.
I couldn't decide which style of papers I liked the best, so I made one out of DCWV's Flower Shop stack and one out of DCWV's Meet Me In Paris stack.  Which style do you prefer?  Whimsical or classic flowers?  Either way, I think they turned out sweet.  Now I have a new supply of baby cards in my stash!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

You Know The DRILL Card

Good Morning!  Today is my day to post on the SumMore Fun blog.  The card I am sharing with you uses the Raisin Boat Nailed It! stamp set.
The card was pretty straight forward to create.  I simply stamped the images from the Nailed It! stamp set in black ink onto gray cardstock using a stamp platform.  I wanted the drill sentiment on the card, so I hilighted around the drill image with white gel pen.
I added a gray toned wood paper at the bottom then wrapped the measuring tape washi around the center.  The screw images on the wood paper were stamped in black and then colored with silver marker.  I stamped a sentiment from the Nailed It! stamp set, matted it and popped it up with foam tape.  The only embellishment I used was Bumblebee Trendy Twine underneath the sentiment to make the card complete!

Remember, we have this Mood Board Challenge going on right now! Here is the inspiration photo for it. You can use the pictures, theme, and/or colors to enter.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Trendy Bakers Twine ~ Summer Muslin Bag

Hello all and happy Monday!  I am sharing a project for the Trendy Twine blog today.  This month we are showcasing Orange Limeade Trendy Twine which was released as a Halloween twist, but as you can see, it works wonderfully for summer as well!
I started with a Cotton Muslin Bag and stamped grass along the bottom in lime ink, heat setting it to make sure it was dry.  I then hand stitched the butterfly trail using Orange Limeade Trendy Twine.  The butterfly is a die cut and I added black Nuvo Crystal drops to accent it.  I used hot glue to adhere it to the bag.
I then added a Mango Large Tag-It that I had added a die cut sun to as well as a sentiment stamped from the APB Choose Happy stamp set.  I placed a Lime Orangesicle Trendy Page Dot at the top and tied it around the top of the bag with Orange Limeade Trendy Twine.
