July 4th Card

I have three people in my family whose birthdays are on the 4th of July...my dad and two cousins.  Crazy, right?  So when I saw the Stars and Stripes card kit from SVG Attic I knew the shaped July 4th card would be perfect as birthday cards :)  A little non-traditional, but very fun!
It was so easy to make!  Plus I made the matching A7 envelope included in that kit out of patterned cardstock.  I popped a couple of the elements up with foam tape and added a few red sequins and lots of white doodle dots.  The patterned paper I used was Vintage Nation from the Paper Studio.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day and a great Fourth of July!

Monochromatic Hearts Card

Today I am sharing a card that I created right before the tornado hit last week.  Today I FINALLY was able to do some fun crafting after a week of not having time to do so, so I am getting back into the swing of things slowly but surely!
This card was made with DCWV's Mariposa stack.  All of the papers in that stack are so beautifiul and elegant.  You can see the gold leafing on the black paper.  I wanted to bring that shine out, so I added sequins on my card around the sentiment.  The white layer is actually 2 layers of cardstock glued together to make it extra sturdy and I popped that up with foam dots.
I think the bow really finished the card off and added just the right touch of softness :)

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Tornado Damage

Hello my crafty friends!  I am just popping in quickly to let you know I may not be around in the blogging world for a short while here.  We had a tornado hit my town and the surrounding country side on Tuesday evening.  Even though we are okay and our house is too, thank GOD, we have a lot of clean up work to do.

I watched the clouds start to form from my deck and I took this video with my camera.  The video quality isn't great, but it does capture the way the clouds were churning in circles.  I knew it was time to head to the basement then!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p68g5KOOsFE

Here is a picture of the clouds.

I didn't stay outside any longer to see what transpired afterward!

My grandparents' farm (currently owned by my uncle and no one was living there) was completely destroyed.

So With all that being said, I will be helping with clean up over the next few days and I won't be creating any new crafts...so make sure you spend extra time in your craft rooms just for me :)

Plus it is an awesome reminder to be thankful of everything we have...including all of you who are reading this!

I hope you all have a wonderfully crafty day and don't forget to tell your family and friends that you love them...we never know what may happen from one day to the next!

Barnyard Birthday Card

My sweet little nephew turned 5 and boy oh boy, he is country all the way!  I made this special barnyard card for him :)
All of the cutting files were from SVG Attic's Down On The Farm set.  I welded two barn sections together to create the card base and the card is 5".
See that sweet cow and little chicken?  I think they turned out so cute!  I embossed the red barn layer with an embossing folder to simulate barn siding.
Last, but not least I hand cut the pennants and stamped a letter on each one to display his name across the banner.  The Trendy Twine was the perfect finishing touch for it!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Dad Card with Ties

I have another Father's Day card to share with you today.  It was 100% inspired by the papers in DCWV's Guy Stack.  I have used so much of that paper!
I used cut #31 (oblong) in the Elegant Edges cricut cartridge for the frame around the sentiment.  I wrapped it with some Trendy Twine and added 3 homemade enamel dots at the bottom.
The sentiment layer is popped up with foam tape for extra dimension.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Tool Chest Card

I made this tool chest card for my Dad and Father-In-Law.  They coordinate so well with the drill and wrench candy bar holders I posted earlier this week.  If you missed them, you can see them HERE and HERE.
I saw the file for this super adorable card available from Lori Whitlock and I knew it would be a winner :)  It was easy to cut out and assemble.  I did also use my Tags, Bags, Boxes and more Cricut cartridge to create the round label you see below.  (It is the very first shape in the handbook)
I used foam tape behind the drawers and chalked around the cuts with brown chalk ink and finished it off by embellishing with the faux screw brads and some Trendy Twine.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Wrench Candy Bar Holder

Today I wanted to share with you the fun gift I am going to be giving my Dad for Father's Day!  It is from SVG Attic's Tools Rule set.
This one holds a regular size candy bar like a Snickers, Milky Way, etc.  I chose to use a 3 Musketeers bar since its silver packaging matched the wrench so well.
To find the instructions on assembling the wrench, go HERE.

I inked the light gray pieces and the tag with brown chalk ink.  The sentiment on the tag is from My Craft Spot's Tiny Tags stamp set.

If you missed the Drill candy bar holder that I posted yesterday, you can see it HERE.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Drill Candy Bar Holder

Today I wanted to share with you the fun gift I am going to be giving my Father-In-Law for Father's Day!  It is from SVG Attic's Tools Rule set.
I made the drill from that set and added a Hershey's chocolate bar inside.  The size that fits in this is the 1.55 oz. bar.  For the instructions on how to assemble this drill, visit HERE.
I inked the yellow pieces and the tag with brown chalk ink.  The sentiment on the tag is from My Craft Spot's Tiny Tags stamp set.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Vinyled Tiles for Weddings

June is the month for weddings!  If you are like me, you have been invited to a few.  Everyone loves personalized gifts and it is a bonus if it is handmade.  I created these tiles for two of the weddings I am invited to using the Full Split Monogram Alphabet at SVG Attic.
I made them on two different colors of tiles, this one is more of a tan, but it has some gray in it as well.  You can purchase the split letter "R" by itself here.
I used Times New Roman font for the last name and for the est. date at the bottom of the tile.  For the border, I simply made a 11" square and a 10.5" square in my computer software and the result was a .25" border.

This tile is more of the black/gray family.  The letter "G" is available here as a single file.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

We hope you will be inspired by the creativity of the design teams of SVG Attic and SnapDragon Snippets.  You are sure to find many wonderful projects that will be at the top of you summer crafting lists!

Here is the project I created for the hop:

I made an anniversary card for my husband!  Our wedding anniversary is June 11th and we will be married 9 years :)
I used SVG Attic's Classic Wedding set for the cake.  It is approx 5" wide since this card is 8.5"x5.5".  I used a lot of dimension behind the layers and added some sparkle with rhinestones in the top two corners. I also used some tan chalk ink around the layers of the cake for visual interest.
The eyelet part at the bottom was cut from the Pure Elegance Cupcake Wrappers file.  I cut it at the imported size once with a light pink vellum and once with white cardstock.  I kept the vellum layer on top somewhat loose so it would show transparent.  I trimmed those two layers down to fit the card base.  The stamp is from Craftin Desert Diva's Simply Said set.

Now how about some blog hop prizes??

Construction Hat and Dump Truck

Hello all!  Today I am sharing some construction related projects I made using products that I recently received from Oriental Trading Company.  Did you know that they had scrapbooking supplies?  And some very nice ones at that!

First up, I made a dump truck using SVG Attic's file from the Work Zone set.  All of the cardstock I used in this truck were from the Full Color Spectrum Paper Pack from Oriental Trading.  This cardstock is lighter weight but is still obviously sturdy enough to create 3D paper crafts with it.  It cut SO smooth with my Cameo!  The price is very reasonable too, all in all that paper pack is a must have for any crafter!
Guess what, the truck bed even lifts up :)  I inked around the window cuts and the details on the truck box with brown chalk to add visual interest.
Of course, what fun is it if your child can't dress the part too, so I made this hard hat from SVG Attic's Construction Party Kit.  The solid papers I used were from the same solid cardstock stack I mentioned above and the patterned paper is from Oriental Trading's Boyz Paper Kit...super cute!  It is double sided paper that is thinner than cardstock, but thicker than printer paper.  The best part is that it too cut perfectly with my Cameo, YAY!
Here is the hat and the truck together.
Finally, I decided to make a plain hat using the bonus hat SVG that is included in the construction hat file from the Construction Party Kit.  (It is the same piece as the construction hat except it is without the holes for adding the crest piece, so it can be made to look like a plain cap).  I used more of the paper and embellishments from the Boyz Paper Kit for this hat.
Here are the two hats side by side.  To assemble these, I used a lot of Double Sided Tape in 1/8" on the assembly tabs, some mini glue dots and Foam Tape to adhere the circles on the front with some dimension.  All three of these adhesives are wonderful products that I absolutely recommend for every crafter!  The Foam tape is thinner than regular foam dots, so it is perfect where you want a little, not a ton of dimension, especially for cards that will be mailed, etc.
FYI, if you cut the hats out in the size included in the file, it will fit the head of kids from ages 2-5.  You can resize the hat file larger if you want it to fit older kids.
Of course I couldn't help but include pictures of my 4.5 year old son modelling the hat :)
He really wanted me to make the truck to look like Chuck the dump truck, so I tried, and he really liked the end result.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

The review of these products is based strictly on my opinion. Others may have a different opinion or experience with the products listed above. I was provided the samples free of charge by Oriental Trading Co. and I provided my honest opinion. No other type of compensation was received for this review.
