Farmer Boy Easel Card

If you are looking for the SVG Attic Winter Wonderland blog hop, click HERE.

Today I am sharing a birthday card I created for one of my nephews.  He just turned 9 and is a farm boy :)
The focal point is the stamp that is from Paper Nest Dolls called Farmer Owen.  Truthfully, I don't color images.  I use seem to use die cuts for the main image so this was actually the first time I had colored in a large stamp.  I used prismacolor pencils and I think it turned out pretty good for my first try!  At the right side I added a couple staples and two buttons that are laced with Chocolate Truffle Trendy Twine, which happens to be on sale right now!
For the scalloped tag, I used a stamp set and die from My Craft Spot.  You can also see the burlap that I added behind the stamped image for texture.
This is what it looks like all set up!  The papers I used were from The Paper Studio and the stack is called Yee Haw!  The inside sentiment is from Craftin Desert Diva's.

Products I used from Annie's Paper Boutique:

  1. Your coloring is so beautiful! Looks like you have always been one to color. I never like to color. Never did as a child either. I had a gal once tell me that I am not a true crafter then. Oh well, "nobody puts baby in a corner". People are so funny in this industry. You rocked this sweet card for your nephew! He will love it. Even the papers are perfect! Have an awesome day!

    1. Thanks for the compliment! I truly didn't like to color either. I don't expect to start coloring much either, it was just that this stamp really needed it and I thought it was so perfect for my nephew :) I can't believe that someone would tell you that you weren't a crafter if you didn't color! They obviously had never seen the amazing things you create!

  2. This is so adorable!! The image is so cute!! You colored it fabulously!! I don't color either. I try and I bought a big set of Prismacolor pencils, watched youtube videos, but I just don't really enjoy it enough to do it very often. The burlap you added is a fabulous touch!! Your nephew will adore it!! Have a great day :)

  9. Such a wonderful Easel card...Wonderful use of burlap on your design. I have purchased some a long time ago and still haven't use it...LOL You inspire me to create something with it soon. So delighted you joined us at our last week's Challenge and hope you join us again for the start of another Challenge today. Leaving you with some encouragement from Psalm 62:5-6 which says, "Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken." Hugs and blessing always!
