Seminarian Easter Cards

Hello all, this is just a quick post to share all the Easter cards I made for the Seminarians from our diocese as well as the ladies who are going to become nuns.  The sad thing is that now with the COVID-19 closures,  most seminary colleges are closed so I don't have addresses for those young men at home. I will see what else I can do to get these to them!

On to the card...or should I say 26 cards! The patterned paper is from DCWV Gilded Stack.  The cross stamp was from Hobby Lobby years ago and I water colored it with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  The "crown of thorns" was a rose die cut that I simply cut in one place to slip over the corner of the cross panel.  The kraft paper was stamped with a sentiment and two dots of Pearl Pen were added.

What have you been up to lately? Work as usual? My kids are at home so I am in home school mode (plus an active toddler!) So my paper crafting time has been nil.  I did, however,  decide to make the time to make some fabric face masks as I am a nurse an know that with the shortages worldwide of surgical face masks, if a person/facility cannot get any of those, a fabric mask is better than nothing. My first task is to get some made for my husband's aunt who is undergoing chemotherapy right now so she can wear something while she is out and about!

90th Birthday Card

Hello and welcome to another Wednesday post for the SumMore Fun blog!  This time, I have a feminine 90th birthday card to share with you.  The stamp set I used on this card is Raisin Boat Springtime Love.

I started off by taking a panel of white cardstock and created a subtle lace background on it with a GMD flower petal collage stencil and Soft Lavender SB.com ink.  I also wrapped purple crinkled seam binding around that panel in the area I wanted to add the 90 heart.  The heart was stamped from the Springtime Love stamp set with Charcoal ink.  I then cut it out with my Brother Scan N Cut and watercolored the leaves in with Parisian Purple ink.  The 90 was simply cut out from silver vinyl with my Scan N Cut and placed onto the heart.  I added the heart with foam tape.  The sentiment was also from the Springtime Love stamp set and was stamped with Charcoal ink.  The final embellishment was Silver Pearl Pen. I tried a different technique to apply it this time by adding it to a scrap paper, then dipping different sized styluses into that and touching it to my card.  The white cardstock panel was matted with charcoal and purple cardstocks onto the card base.

A Dozen Spring Cards

Hello all! Just looking at the papers in DCWV's new Happy Spring stack (available at Joann) make ME so happy! I wanted to spread that happiness to others by making several cards from that stack to send out to others...12 cards to be exact!

I am a member of the Card Kindness Project group on Facebook and sending cards to others is what we do!  If you are interested, head on over there to request to join.  I kept these cards super simple, letting the gorgeous spring papers do all the talking.  I ended up using part of all of 6 sheets of papers from the Happy Spring stack to make these.

All of these cards have a focal point of beautiful sayings that were pre-printed in the stack except for the one that you see below that says "welcome spring".  That one was the remaining 3x4" saying that I didn't think fit the occasion I was going for with these cards, so I simply flipped it over, stamped on the patterned back, fussy cut some flowers from the other scraps and I think it turned out lovely!  it may even be my favorite of the bunch...

Here is a closer look at the rest of the cards.  I used the GMD scalloped rectangle die for the bottom patterned paper layer, ATG and foam tape as well as solid gray cardstock to matte the sayings.

Trendy Bakers Twine~Layout in Purples

Hello all!  Today I am posting for the Trendy Twine blog.  This time I have a scrapbook layout to share.  While this layout isn't flashy or bright or elaborate, it is one of my favorites because a little bit of my heart is on this page.  The photo on it is of my precious baby girl during her "newborn" photo shoot in 2018 (From Tomorrow On Photography).  It is the most perfect picture of her and it holds such a special place in my heart.  I guess that is the reason we scrapbook, right?! To preserve those memories!

First up, I started with papers from DCWV's Lilac Love stack and one piece from DCWV's Silver Leaf stack.  I decided on the placement of the elements on the page and thought the simple title "Love" would be perfect.  That was cut from vinyl with my Silhouette Cameo.  I knew I wanted to make the picture pop as the focal point, so I outlined the tan photo mat with Grape Fizz Trendy Twine using Lineco Adhesive in a precision tip bottle.

I knew I wanted to add some sparkle to the page, so I used Grape Fizz Sequins, plus white and silver gems to add some visual interest.

Last, but not least, I added a duo of tag-its.  One of my favorite things to do is to layer a darker color under the lighter one so the top tag really pops!  The supplies I used for this one include: Lavender Tag-It, Grape Tag-It, Krazy for Kraft Trendy Page Dot, Grape Fizz Trendy Twine, Documenting the Everyday stamp set, Charcoal ink, flower die and gems.
